I think that they are. Once console gaming hits the "gaming PC" benchmarks, then we have hit the apex. 1080p, MP with more than 12-24 people and 60fps minimum. That is needed ASAP.
@jdfoster. Super visuals? MAG? I respectfully beg to differ. It looked like Homefront.
@mitchge In all fairness, GOW 3 does not have destructible environments and is really linear. If Kratos was able to interact with all that stuff going on in the background, in a non-scripted event, then there is no way they could have kept it locked at 60fps.
I work for the sheriff's office and believe it or not, quite a few of the officers are big gamers. It's been pretty much confirmed that if any of the crackers are found via search and seizure there is going to be a big bag of smack and a jump drive of child porn "found" in their back pocket.
They guys have no idea how much hatred there is for them. It's all fun n games until they are found by some people who have real authority and decide to play judge ...
They just need to make a map called "bathroom". One side spawns in the shower and the other on the sink. It's a fight for control of the toilet!
It's the button to the left of "disagree". It's called "agree" lol
Hell yes. Now that is sum swag!
Squeaky wheel gets the greasin.
Indeed I played for an hour or so. For me, games either grab and pull me in or they do not. Take Demon's Souls for example. Not the best graphics but decent set design and superb game play. I put in about 150 hours on that one.
Alice just didn't have that pull for me. I really wanted to like it, rented it the day it came out and planned on buying it if it seemed good. For me, it was a let down. So perhaps I quit in haste but it's 2011 and a game has to have visual...
Alice upsets me more because they had such a great game and just blew it on the presentation. Homefront was just a generic FPS, a tired and used up genre.
I wouldn't say the art direction blows anything away because for me it was pretty lackluster. The concept seems to be superb, the NPCs and music are indeed intriguing but whoever pasted it all together must have been hungover. The final product is a slew of low-res, very rough-hue set pieces that could have been so muc...
Pure Sandbox Bliss.
Worst graphics ever. Yes, graphics DO matter. Such a shame. The story and tone was really good but good lord it felt like playing an 8-bit game on acid. After 10 pig snouts I had to return the game. Back to Infamous 2.
It wasn't just the casuals that they targeted it was the youth and this, my friend, is marketing genius. Those "kiddies" are now teens and they all cut their gaming teeth on the Wii. They will eat this shit up.
Look at big tobacco. They say screw the current smokers, we already have 'em. Market to kids, get em hooked and we have a customer for life.
How many people do you know switched their cigg brand? Most smoke what they first started on...
@SilentNegotiator. Let me play devil's advocate for a minute. The Wii was marketed to the kiddies and soccer mom's with extra badonkadonk and it sold like fricking hotcakes.
Fast forward a few years and guess what? Those kiddies are now teens and DO understand the tech. They grew up on Wii and brand loyalty will get them to purchase the next console.
I guarantee you Nintendo will market it to the moms with some unknown factor. No on can dispute the ...
Flying the Zeros was dope as Hell.
I disagree. IRL our special ops teams break into enemy compounds and disable/disarm their vehicles. I remember playing Rainbow 6 Vegas and Black Arrow and being spawned camped A LOT. Some people whined and quit early. No me. I stay and fight until the time runs out. Some days your are the hunter, others, the prey.
I dunno, I'd love to see a Demon's Souls with Crysis Warhead (on really high) graphics.
I would take no dvd if it shaves 50 bucks off the price. I use my ps3 for bluray anyway
I hope you are being sarcastic because the article has nothing to do with Anonymous the crackers, rather an anonymous game developer explaining DRM.
Your Dell Latitude, sure.
