A part of me deep within is getting really bored with this obsession the west has of demonizing non-western cultures/countries.
I understand "Terrorism" is a big deal now a days in games/media, and what is popular/controversial/scary sells, but I think there are already one too many video games that are milking this bad trend.

Because video-games in essence are a form that allows individuals to control a situation that is fantastical in nature. None of the events that occur in the video game need necessarily be true or based on the truth. That's the beauty of video games.

at this point multiplatform games look so close to each other that these kinds of comparisons are worthless unless there is a significant different (i.e. ghostbusters, etc).

Nice try Cammie, but we all know its the audience and not the advertising thats the problem.
I live/work in NYC, and trust me.. this game is and was advertised all over the place. Rockstar employees were even driving around vans with GTA Chinatown Wars painted on them, giving away free stuff, and GameStops had rockstar employees demoing the game and giving away t-shirts.
