I wouldn't say that. These are the same people who were in charge of Marketing for the previous couple of years, and we've all seen how well that went.
Marketing needs to make some desperate changes and they need to make them quick. The hardware isn't creating any profit, so the software has to do that job, and the software cannot do that no matter how good it is unless someone in Marketing is using their brain and a tiny bit of common sense. (And maybe copying some Wii marketing...
Completely agreed. I'm also a multi-console owner and I can tell you that to-date, I have seen a total of 4 ps3 commercials on tv whereas I have seen hundreds of Wii and 360 commercials/ads.
The excellent games that Sony develops cannot be successful unless the marketing kicks it up a hundred notches and gets with the program.
Right, exactly as the guy said, however what Dille did not mention is that he should be fired because he has done a horrible job thus far and probably wont do any better this year.
All they had to do was show a 15-30 second commercial where some teens/young adults/adults were sitting around and making a level on LittleBigPlanet, and then show them playing with 4 players and having a blast.
Lather, Rinse, Repeat. Holy $hit, what do they even get paid for if they cant ...
Exactly. The game is coming out in a matter of days and still I have not seen a single TV spot or advertisement.
Meanwhile, Gears of War/Halo 3/Mass Effect/Gears of War 2 were months away and Microsoft had ramped everyone up with their ads.
These are words coming from the people who are the single reason why LittleBigPlanet has not sold 4 million copies yet.
LBP is an excellent game that everyone who plays loves, 5 years olds to 50 year olds. However due to a horrible marketing/advertisement campaign (or the lack thereof), the game is struggling to sell copies.
The same happened with Metal Gear Solid 4 as well.
Quite frankly, the games cannot always sell themselves, thats what the marketing...
Nice! Congrats to the champ.
If all of that is true, that's some amazing achievements and I'm totally pumped for this game.
Let's hope it sets a new standard.
More fuel for the fire that needs not burn.
The game is excellent on both consoles and this is simply pointless even if there is a difference.
I don't care how many units a nintendo systems sells or how many units their nintendo games sell.
I stopped categorizing nintendo as a video game vendor about 7 years ago.
They're in the same category as flat irons and blow driers and rotisserie ovens and really expensive tooth brushes.
It's a gimmick that last for 1-2 weeks and then collects dust.
Oh My God!
Quick, everyone return their ps3 copy right now!
Give me a break dude. Who the hell really cares?
Article = FAIL.
I was so disappointed in the slowness of controls and of the fidgety controls in general, that I had to erase the demo immediately from my console.
The franchise itself has always been great in terms of story, graphics, sound, etc, but the controls have been a weak point since day 1.
The Resident Evil 3 devs need to spend some serious time playing Dead Space, because the controls in that game are perfect for Resident Evil.
I'm not going to trust the authenticity of this video.
If the game looked that good for the original xbox and was that far along, they would have released it.
I don't know what it is exactly, but something smells fishy.
AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
LMAO
S-E has their priorities all mixed up, there you have it folks, another delay, and a scarier one since they wont say how badly it is going to be delayed.
My bet is in: October 2010
Sony is making a good point.
However, the Xbox Live service is a great service for the primary reason that it has a strong financial backing (all of those million+ subscribers).
You can't have it both ways I suppose.
If SEGA made another system, I would seriously consider buying it.
With the way the gaming industry is right now, the more competition the better. It will make everyone bring their A game.
Besides, the Dreamcast may not have been a success in terms of sales, but it had some of my favorite games on it.
DO IT SEGA!!
The 360 version looks slightly better with better textures and richer colors.
There have been a million and one articles discussing Final Fantasy VII and how a remake is/will be made. However it is all speculation until S-E says so themselves.
I'm not going to get all excited about the prospect, because in all honesty, these articles are a dime a dozen and don't ever lead to anything concrete. If anything, after an article like this gets some heat around it, S-E is quick to dismiss any rumors about a remake.
Looking at Square-Enix' recent rel...
Looks good.
Interested in seeing how it turns out.
The game graphics, design, story and characters all look decent so far, but what I am most worried about is the glitches, framerate hiccups and other bugs.
I saw some noticeable slowdown in the battle footage....
I'm still very skeptical, considering S-E's recent letdowns. So lets see what happens when the review flood flows from tomorrow to friday.
