@ShinMaster
You are 100% correct mate. The 64 was not analog but a digital thumbstick. I always assumed it was analog. Yes the ps1 was the first to use dual analog sticks and it has set the standard ever since.
I imagine there wouldn't be one available at launch but they do make them. I remeber a mate of mine having a ps2 to Xbox controller adapter that worked well. Only problem you will have will be it always having to be wired.
I suspect this article to go nuclear in no time. Ridiculous flamebait article
Because when the ps1 first came out there was no analog sticks on controllers. The d pad was primary. After the 64 was released and included the analog stick Sony added the sticks to the dualshock as an after thought. Rather than redesign the whole controller they put them where they are and it worked fine. There was no need to fix what wasn't broken. But after 3 generations of the same design it did become a but dated. The dualshock 4 is a natural evolution and looks to be a solid contro...
Why is he Automatically a xbot/Xbox fanboy for stating the Wii. You Sony fanboys need to remember there are 3 console manufacturers and not two. As of now the Wii is the highest selling 7th generation console. It may not be when the final xbox360/ps3/Wii is off the shelf but for now you need to accept FACT
@vigilante man you seriously don't think the ps1 was the first to use cd-rom do you. Take a look at the Mega CD and Panasonic 3do for example. Not to mention the CD was around for a long time before the ps1 was released. DVD was also already becoming the standard over VideoCD by the time it was put into the ps2. It was only really with theps3 and blu ray where they took the gamble and decided to put it in the machine while the format war between hd-dvd was still going on.
Interesting analogy you came up with. Although I don't see the "race" quite like that. Both companies had there struggles early on and both came out for the better. Sony has proven it has the longevity in the hardware stance especially when you look at how long the ps2 was still selling for and the increase year on year for sales with the ps3. Something I think will be even more apparent next gen as I see the ps4 being the more future proof console. But like I said I am no fanbo...
I'm not disputing numbers at all. Yes the ps2 "owned" the original Xbox last gen. 150m vs 25m sales shows a landslide victory. But your talking about an established console that became a household name vs a totally new console trying to break into the market where most people already had a ps2. Fast forward to this gen and both consoles sales are neck and neck. The ps3 is only .3% (yes that is "point" 3) ahead in sales at current standings. So by your logic the ps2 &qu...
Fanboys will say the funniest things
You guys may as well put pillow cases on your head or something. Its a lynching around here
We call them "Foamers" hahaha. See them everywhere with cameras and stuff filming trains go past
Grasping at straws I think
@svoulis
"You do know that sony offered free batteries for anyone that needed them just send them your old one and they give you a new one for ps3 controller."
While its a nice gesture its not exactly convenient. Say I only have one controller for my ps3 (which I actually do). My battery dies and needs replacing. Your telling me that sending my battery to Sony and waiting say 7-14 days to have a replacement sent to me is more convenient than being a...
No your not the only one that prefers them. Unfortunately people just don't wanna see how convenient they are. If it was Sony that used them and not Microsoft we would here how great it was to not have to worry about charge cords.
When I was younger my parents never restricted me from playing any games. I'd play violent games all the time. But as a parent now I'm always conscious of games ratings and try to educate my children that if they want to play a game they ask me if its ok for them. At first I felt like a hypocrite as I never had those restrictions but people need to realize games are way more graphic and realistic in this day and age. You put on Doom or Wolfenstein and compare that to shooters these da...
Looks amazing. Both versions were virtually identical. Whether you buy this on PS or Xbox won't matter. The experience will be the same
Looking forward to getting my hands on it. Definitely looks like a solid next gen controller
Easy to say when when 1 game will shatter sales of everything he has done combined. At least GTA 5 lived up to the hype. Same can not be said for any of his games
@14Feb-R
Same could be said for seeing Bungie on Sony's stage at E3 and everything seen about Destiny is shown on PS4. The main thing is its still multiplatform. Everyone gets to enjoy them now.
