I have always loved ff8s world. I would love a full scale remake of that like this. Can you imagine the intensity of that section where the galbadian bases launched those missiles and then balamb garden has to take flight in a modern style game? Then of course the giant garden battle at the end of disc 2!?

The devs have said multiple multiple multiple times that the main narrative of the original ff7 will be intact with only small deviations or some things in a different order from the original.
This was never a remake of ff7, it was the story of ff7 being remade by sephiroth. Because of his interference an alternate timeline is being made, hence Zack living. ...
@gold_drake considering THE most famous mini game and THE most famous summon are chocobo breeding and knights of the round (which required breeding chocobos to get), I would find it extremely likely that breeding chocobos is back. Especially since a highlight of this trailer are all the minigames that people love (junon parade, chocobos racing, boxing, motorcycle chase).
How long before this is a free ps+ game for the month? I think we've gotten at least 3 of these for free over the last several years.

No HDR issues for me, but if anyone has a big where the sound cuts out entirely you have to go into the ps5 sound settings and turn off 3D audio. Just FYI.
I'm confused with what you're saying. The game is digital only. What are you talking about discs for at all? And besides, virtually no games play off of discs anymore anyways. The read speeds are way too slow.
Maybe doesn't hit 60fps all the time but this game runs just fine on ps5.
Dude, you're quoting the Bethesda PR guy. Not exactly the go to for reliable information. Hope you like the game, but start actually thinking for yourself. Trust me, very few Sony fans are "jelly" of your flagship darling. Some people can just think outside the hype.
I'm not trying to put down anybody that likes it. It's just not a game that I enjoyed at all. Other people can have opinions outside the aggregate review score. Relax.
I played Alan Wake for the first time last night. Was a free game last month on PSN. Absolutely terrible. Deleted it from my hard drive.
There's a large difference between fun to play and fun in concept.
I don't own an Xbox or have a great PC to play this on, but I really hope it's a win for all the fans that are severely overhyping this. I can't imagine this living up to some of the high bars I'm seeing on these comment sections, but if it does congrats to everyone who knew. If it doesn't reach your high bar, then honestly you did it to yourself.
The seemingly general lack of enthusiasm for this game everywhere is telling. The showcase was not anything different than what we've been playing for years. The reality shifting could be really well implemented, like old school Soul Reaver, but that's about it. The only thing this game has on FromSoft games is maybe the water looks a lot better.

Make me an elite trooper of the 501st who hunts Jedi. That's it. No Jedi in the game except for your mission targets. No lightsabers like every other game. Just a good soldier following orders. No moral dilemma or switching sides after a mission or two, just pure carnage for the Empire. Then disposed of at the end of the game for the new storm troopers.
Most suits have a special ability unique to that suit. For me it's really just cosmetic though.
