Yuffie will have some story developments in Wutai with Saruf (goodness I forgot about all of that with Rufus too!) but as far as I know Sonon's story will be kind of trapped in Midgar - which would really be a strange addition with what is going on there. Completely unnecessary
FF8 is a great game with some very strange design choices. It doesn't even remotely come close to sucking. But I do agree with voodoo, the FF game that died truly suck is FF13.
IF a remake actually exists, which I totally doubt at this point, I hope it's just a reskin of the original more or less. Create seamless environments with camera control, but retain absolutely everything else. I don't need a multi game project or anything, just a refresh of an already absolutely perfect game.

The game releases the month before they celebrate 30 years for the franchise. It would be insane not to have everyone return in some way. Though I hope this has a good deal of puzzle rooms and stuff like the originals. I enjoyed RE8, but after the castle there really wasn't anything to the puzzle solving.
