I don't see the advantage anymore of owning both consoles. The number of third party exclusives is shrinking for both consoles. Personally I like Sony's lineup better this year and I just don't see the point in owning a 360 and paying for a live membership to play Halo and Gears online. Not dissing the 360, if I had bought it first I would feel the opposite. I mean I like to play online games but really throughout the year only 1 or 2 games will dominate my online time, COD is multi-plat and ...
I still don't understand what the battle system is? Is it turn based or like Kingdom hearts? I mean if you can 'chain' combos it leads me to believe this is an action RPG. I have not played FF since 10 so I am probably way behind the times.
Rumor is that GT5 will be availible in 3D. it will come with 3d glasses bunduled not require a new TV dummy. It will require HDMI on your PS3 though.
I think if it is true it will sell out the roof. I am not interested in racing games, so I wouldn't buy it but many people would. I think it is a good idea to try it with one or 2 games a year.
Well Too Human and Haze were not terrible games in the eyes of many people (See G4's Adam Sessler who added it to the holiday gift guide on X-Play). But this is not a western developer which means I will give them the benefit of the doubt until the game is released or we see more on the game.
I played the Orange box and I too was a little curious why people rated it so high. I understand the gravity gun was something not done before, but other than that I guess I didn't understand the ending with the agent. To be fair I didn't play the first Half Life, but still I found the story hard to follow.
I guess in 05 this game was ground breaking but when I played it last year I didn't get what the fuss was all about, especially with the ending. Ep. 1 and 2 didn't exactly cle...
I listened to the IGN podcast and they predicted that Uncharted 2 would be GOY, which isn't on this list.
Interesting that this site is hard up for Heavy Rain, GT is all about RE5, IGN Uncharted 2 and Gamespot GOW3. A big year for sony developers to be sure. I have my bets on Uncharted 2 as well.
PES should not have made the top 10 list, they must have felt they had to have a Konomi game.
Both games look so good, Infamous may have the deeper story but Prototype may have the better game play, of what I have seen so far. I will probably get both but if I had to choose one right now it would be a toss up.
I cannot believe this is a PSN title! Wow looks like an easy contender for Download/independent game of the year.
Good news but I have cable and DVDR. I don't see how this will be real news unless they offer free viewing
Look I am tired of this "Sony shows their hand to soon" crap from 360 fanboys. The KZ2 trailer from 05 was shown along side with FF13, RE5, MGS4 and others to build hype for the system before it's release. MS did the same thing that year with Alan Wake, Fable 2 and others. They wanted gamers to know that when the PS3 and 360 was to be released it would have a great library. Since that E3 they have not shown games more than a year or two away. MS may have a few "tricks" up ...
They do have the technology to make a TV in 3D. In fact Superman Returns was the first film shot with this technology in mind. But like everyone else has said, HD tvs still have not penetrated enough homes for people to go out and get the upgrade. It will probably be about 10 years before 3D TVs become household items.
I think Sony should release one 3D game to see how it does. I mean if we have learned anything from Nintendo it is that peripherals move software. They don't need...
Leave the door open for Insomniac? They are technically not 1st party, and I can't think of any western developers that would do a PS3 exclusive. It is probably a PSN title or something small. I am guessing it will be small because why would a European Mag get the exclusive coverage?
Who knows this Mag could be revealing it to the European audiance and GameInformer or EGM could have the coverage for the US.
What about Kingdom Hearts and the rumored Jax and Dexter game?
Incognito will annouce Twisted Metal. I don't think Warhawk sold as well as they thought I could be wrong. High Impact games I thought only did PSP titles, and if Jax and Dexter are indeed coming in 09 I would Imagine High Impact or Ready at Dawn would be working on an exclusive PSP title.
then there's Insomniac, Sucker Punch, Quantic Dreams, Q Games, thatgamecompany, Media Molecule that are second party and making titles exclusively for the PS3.
out of the American st...
EA wouldn't put out an exclusive game for PS3, I wouldn't think. Unless it was a PSN title that wouldn't fit on XBLA. They did publish L4D, which was console exclusive but that was more bc Valve is a PC developer and said that the 360 was easy to port over from PC, otherwise it would have been a PC exclusive.
People stop making top ten list of garbage. Let's talk about real flops, like Spiderman Web of Shadows, Quantum of Solice, No More Heros, DeBlob and Boom Blox and every JRPG released on the 360. All of these games have a larger market share and none sold close to 1 million.
What is the criteria for a "Flop" because a game that sells more than a million copies seems to be doing well, it qualifies as a Greatest Hit or Platnum game at that point. You can say, "you pe...
he is flying to LA for the exclusive. Which means if it is a 1st Party game, they could be visiting Naughty Dog, Insomniac, Santa Monica any one else know what other studio is out there? I think it could be Jax and Dexter, Twisted Metal, or R&C. I hope it will be the annoucement of the Rockstar exclusive game, (they have a contract with Sony). Even though Rockstar is in London.
It must be a Western developer, I would imagine that FF7 would be annouced at a Japanese event. Th...
I have to disagree with some of your comment, I think Bioshock was better than Half-Life 2, just my opinion, at least one had a real ending I still don't get what happened at the end of Half-life 2. But I agree COD4 did raise the bar. I think if KZ can deliver the same multi-player experiance as Halo or COD then it will be the next Halo. If it has a good single player story that is fine but if the Multi-player isn't tight then the game will be easily forgotten.
He is actually wondering if he needs any more money. Why would Sony pay him to put a game on their console if he will profit from it? They don't need the game, the developer would profit more if he could put his game on as many platforms as possible. Sony has shown they are not interested in the same tactics as MS as far as buying away exclusive content.
It would be like a store owner asking the owner of the Property to give them money because people like his store.
I just came! a little late to the party.
