5 years ago when i first bought an lcd hdtv for my bedroom, it cost $1800. Today, the same size set costs as little as $280 at walmart.

Of course 5 years ago, people were content with their CRTs and the equivalent size CRT to my lcd could be had for about $300-400 at BestBuy.

Now look what happened to the old school CRTs. Some people say they have the best video quality, but it'd be nostalgia to find a unit at best buy or fry's these days. I'd ...

I picture that GT5 will have this trailing effect, where people will see it demo'd at BestBuy with the wheel, then by word-of-mouth, other people will start picking up the game + system, and this will go on for a couple months down 2010 to 2011.

GT5 is a system seller. While SonyStyle still showcases GT5p and while GT5p looks boring, so far the overall impression of GT5 looks like it's greatly improved over Prologue, and that by itself may draw a lot of attention to ...

"Nice to see people doing no research before posting such dumb comments."

are you talking about yourself? Granted it was a dumb comment, but you're no better.

wow gamesthirst is the new flamebait website. n4g mods should ban that site so the editors there can go poor and hungry.

lol at the ladies at 4:00 completely ignored the setup. ms got this all wrong. they should put kinect demos in the mall. not in a department store!

the first thing women do when they walk into a department store like macys or nordstroms is head over to the shoe section and then maybe the makeup section and bags after that. teenage girls? they don't go to department stores! they got hollister for their needs.

and poor warzonegamer. when he's sta...

yea ESPN is one of the major networks to offer standard 3d stations so whether consumers like it or not, the big wigs with all the cash sitting up top like it much and they're most likely smiling to each other knowing consumer parents will buy into the 3d craze.

and like sikbeta said, bestbuys and friends will practically phase out the hdtvs and have tv sets that are all capable of 3d display. There are practically no stock of old school crt tvs at my local electronic s...

it's not even about FF13 being different from the traditional rpg. FF13 was just plain bad, way too linear, and boring.

forget FF13. Dragon Quest 9 is awesome. Just finish up Versus, give it to us, and quickly get to work on DQ10.

you can't make 3d displays with 'wider' viewing angles unless you use MS's wedge display approach with the camera-user's head-detection. It's basic geometry where it's optimal when source image to user eyes is at particular angles, but when the angles deviate too much then that's the problem. Take for example a triangle. The point at the top is the source image while the two points at the base are your eyes. The closer your eyes are to the source, the wi...

they said the same thing about bluray. what happened there?

besides, even if u get a 3dtv with glasses, if that set gets outdated because there are glasses-less 3dtv sets available, your 'old' set is still capable of 3d display.

nick didn't notice the flat looking 2D trees in the background signature of video games.

thought this would sell better than the first one considering it has the first game on disc too doesn't it ? Wouldn't 2 games in 1 attract newcomers to the series?

oh... THAT anime. They have a season 2 for those not-in-the-know.

Except Cold, it'd be too expensive and unsuitable for the consumer market (just like Surface). Great for sidewalk ad space like the Sprint store in San Francisco.

The technology is nothing new. This 'wedge' display is like those 'holographic' bookmarkers you get at Borders or Barnes & Noble where if you tilt the bookmark a bit left or right you'd get a different image.

The only difference here is there's a camera in the back ...

I thought 3D was a gimmick, but suddenly people in this article praise it?

Have you guys seen those holographic arcade games back in the mid 80s? Do you really want that kind of shoddy fidelity in your living room?

I'd rather have the option of turning it off since this wedge display is physical and permanent. Remember? A lot of people in this site like "having options."
Does that sound familiar?

@Kain: except Kid Icarus looks like crap compared to the "ooo so pretty" screenshots of RE we're talking about here.

@Cornelius: so a cutscene rendered in real time? Because those screenshots don't show anything that look anywhere close to actual 'gameplay', more like just cutscene cinematics.

you should look up how the 3D in the 3DS works because you obviously don't know about the 3d display technology nintendo is using for the portable.

geez what HAPPENED to this game? remember the first teaser trailers for Agency? It was comical! Sorta like the charm TF2 has. Now it just appears like a generic fps.
