I find it funny how the likelyhood is alot of people won't believe Jaffe after his E3 stunt and thus will be disappointed when his game's not 3D
I'll go 'over the top' and agree with the article. Only a fanboy will deny that alot of the Developers in Sony's worldwide studios are some of the best developers out there and that their games are constantly pushing the technical aspects of games. Microsoft are slow stepping up their games, but if you compare sequels of 360 games to ps3 games, sony's always try to one up themselves. Look at Halo, and crackdown, even gears and compare how much their sequels improve compare...

disagree, because of the amount of splitscreen games I play with my flat mates all the time.
Split screen is difficult to implement as their engine needs to be able to render 2 - 4 different scenes, while also working with the input from 2 - 4 different sources. This is why the graphics take a notable hit, especailly in 4 player.
However, I was surprised at how this doesn't appear to apply to Heavy rain which effortly renders multiple scenes without any noticeable drop in the visuals.
gears 2 has 2p split-screen, hopefully epic will keep on improving gears and that this will include pumping up the SS to 4p

There's no doubt that the US adverts with KB are nothing short of excellent. However for the millionth time ignorant americans are assuming the US = the world.
Elsewhere Sony's adverts make little impact. Meanwhile Microsoft and Nintendo get plenty of coverage. In the UK Microsoft have a great advertising set up by having multiplatform games end with saying it's on the 360 along with the 'jump in' slogan. People who know what's on what console will have already...
Underappreciated game. I've got more game time out of this downloadable title than some of my disc based games!
fun single player and playing online, but a gem if you've got extra controllers and mates to play with ;)
Servers rarely have noone playing too, even at 4am.

That's what makes the consoles differ to gaming PCs... Its static hardware that any consumer can buy at any time it's being sold and still be able to play the same games as other people on the same platform. I don't want to have to fork out for a hardware upgrade so that I can play the latest game. I want to play games that show of the developer's ability to improve with the same specs. This is why I am a console gamer.

GeoW3 will be bad ass with the chainsaw melee but not more violent than GoW3
as for the other games.. come on. Dead space 2 will be pretty violent I guess but still. GoW3 is in a league of it's own when it comes to the violence. Kratos would make Jigsaw piss himself.
Surveys should stop trying to make out that a small group of people interviewed represent an entire nation or similar. It's even more annoying when it's then used as fact. Similar to video game violence rubbish using 'statistics'
Killzone 2 got better and better looking as they made the newer builds. Even to the point where the preview build was what amazed everyone.. then they even bettered that build.

cod:BO - refuse to comment. Though I can garantee 100% it'll be a nominee for best graphics awards. Seeing how MW2 was and black ops looks better than that. But still. come onnnn
GeoW3 - looks sick, definately a contender. Shame cliffy thinks his series is still top of the visuals in games...

Make a new addition to the series instead of a sequel to their first game that didn't get too hot of scores. Though I agree with them making a sequel to Shooter as that was a brilliant game - just too short
