That is a VERY IMPORTANT point that most people forget.
They also forget that bluray will NEVER be able to store a Reg DVD version of a movie and Hi Def version of a movie on the same disc. This is somthing EXCLUSIVE to HD-DVD.
When the HD-DVD group eventually announces this, a single SKU HD-DVD/DVD,(both on 1 side, just put in and press play) with no regular DVD SKU even released , this war will be history.
The statement you disagree with is simply my opinion.
I did say the PS3 is counted with total bluray sales however.
IMO, WB had Ken Graffeo give the numbers so they didn't have to upset the blu side. The numbers are most likely
correct.
On the Disney thing: The attach rates for the PS3 and movies is horrendous. This is not the case for HD-DVD.
I love the PS3 for gaming, but if anyone really thinks any major studio is going to continue to tr...
The delay sucks but some big name games have been released recently with a $hitload of bugs and glitches. If this game needs work, the delay is the right choice. Rather they get it right then release a glitch filled game.
Yes, the PS3 counts in total bluray player's sold. IMO it shouldn't be counted , because some of us only bought the PS3 to play games. I know this is incredibly shocking to most , but true.
The 360 AO is counted in the SA numbers because like you said, if someone buy's it, they are only buying it for one reason - watching HD-DVD's.
Basically , the numbers for HP on bluray are very poor for the amount of "players" sold. I wonder if Disney is paying atten...
Whatever the case may be TK, the problems WB's having are not problems with any of the HD-DVD versions. WB has got to be getting pretty sick of sending out replacement BD's.
So really it is fact that WB is having problems with their Bluray releases , and 0 problems with their HD-DVD releases to this point. Spinning it as not a Bluray problem is pretty "daft". No?
Well, obviously those 750,000 SA HD-DVD players are being used. For the amount of "bluray players" sold in the US that is really very SAD. HP on HD-DVD sold more then the bluray version with about a million and a half less "players" in homes. If the story is accurate, which I think it is.
This also proves that in no way is HD-DVD dead , it's actually the furthest thing from it. Hasn't WB had some growing bluray disc problems recently?
Me too Dude. I own a PS3 and will never buy a bluray movie, because well, I'm a gamer and it's a PS3, and because I am confident bluray will lose the movie war. I think HD-DVD has some plans in the very near future that blu-bots won't be able to comprehend.
It definitely has not occurred to them dude.
As I type, the "official" Nielson numbers don't appear to be out yet. I would love to see em. I keep checking their site.
Anyway, .1 percent Isn't worth the argument. If it is 1.2 to 1 , I'll stand corrected. It would still be extremely sad considering the amount of PS3's sold,
And great news for HD-DVD and WB stories.
Blade Runner f*ckin ROCKS!
1. 2.5 million "Bluray players" sold in the USA
2. 750,000 HD-DVD players sold in the USA
3.So ,there are many many more "Bluray players" in the USA. Yet, A New Realease like Harry Potter:OOTP colud only sell 1.1 Blurays for every 1 HD-DVD sold.
4. That's extreamly fu*kin sad. It shows that bluray movies arn't selling like people think , and shows Paramount made the right choice.
5.Stop cryin about not being able...
Well you can officialy put the "WB is going blu" stories to rest. WB has always favored HD-DVD more so this is really not that suprising to most following the war. Great news for HD-DVD.
It's missing wireless networking and any card reader ports. Niether a big deal IMO. If you just want to use it to play PS2 and PS3 games, it's perfect, great deal.
Not for nothing dude, but the Bourne Ultimatum has only been out for three days. How would bourne's numbers be on this list? I can't find em.
Edit: cool, just sayin, give Bourne a chance.
I use my Add-On all the time. HD-DVD's look and sound perfect. It also makes my 360 run really quiet, which I like.
I fully support HD-DVD, but these tactics to win are not what I expected. : )
1.Bioshock
2.Super Mario Galaxy
3.CoD4
4.Uncharted
5.The Orange Box
So many others. Great year for games.
Your not the only one dude. I think these pictures look sick. And like you said ,in motion it will look even better, I may pass out when I see a video. But I love SF and have been waiting for part 4 forever, so I may be a little bias. But really, I don't think capcom will screw up this one.
Can't wait to play this one. It looks awsome. JokesOnYou is right on about those fanboys. Just ignore. I can't see their comments anymore, it's Fantastic!
I agree. I don't think that "everyone else" is interested in a PS3 right now. Some people will forever hear the letters PS_ and only think video games. And this is why I think HD-DVD w/$199 players has a better chance of winning. I think the name HD-DVD helps as well, it is pretty self-explanatory, for those at least wanting to get into HD.
Ha Ha! I almost spit coffee everywhere. That was great dude!
That's your opinion. And recent sales of HD-DVD movies reveal that, it's a bad one.
You forgot to mention the Amazon HD-DVD BOGO deal going on. I think all those stand alone players people got for Christmas are starting to be used.
