That was Paramount\Dreamworks that got a "rumored" $150 million dollar payoff not Universal. Universal was always HD-DVD exclusive , they picked the winning format years ago. Do you have any idea what your talking about?
the quote is right. That gimpy 40GB PS3 is not selling , no one is even talking about it. And Blurays precious 2 to 1 sales lead which is all Blu fans can cling onto anymore is about to be crushed permently.
There are alot more HD-DVD players in the wild after this weekend. And those people will buy more HD-DVD'S
because they bought a Movie Player to actually watch movies on it, not some Half Assed overpriced failing game machine.
1. Plain and simple . Whatever you say the $1/99 sale was huge for HD-DVD. It is the beginning of Mass Adoption , exactly what Toshiba wanted, However you spin it.
2.The 40gb PS3 is sold out NOWHERE, it is a bust , SM3 on BD is #41 on Amazon best sellers list in it's 1st week ,nobody cares about spidey and the PS3's new price point.
3. You should have gotton a $99 HD-DVD player and saved $300. The PS3 would be a great value if it had great games. But is doesn't. ...
It's seeing phonominal sales due to the fact that know one wants a gimped out 40GB PS3 W/no BC. W/O BC theres only like 2 games worth playing.
You got that right. What was he thinking tring to save Gamestop $600?....forget about it.
I don't think it's the only chance they have to win but holy $hit would that sell alot of HD-DVD players. I think they should do it and eat the cost for not making an x-box with one in it in the first place.
tring to sell your Bluray collection in about 6 months.
Uh , Movie Lovers don't care about xbots and ps3 fanboys.Despreatly latch on to the HD movie player that was forced upon you. And No, a Blur ray player won't be $200 any time soon. Unless Sony is going out of buisness, but then again you may be right.
Sorry about that. I hear the first SM movie looks like crap and is not much better then the DVD.What a waste of $. A real nice trilogy is the Matrix Box Set on HD-DVD, all 3 movies have outstanding PQ & AQ.
before you waste more of your money on bluray.
Hey I'm just trying to help.
I love the Dreamcast!
The PS2 is not a bluray player. HAHAHAHAH! You were tricked by sony into supprorting their dead format. HAHAHAHA! You only have a blu ray player because you bought a Video Game system. You will be stuck with 3 or 4 movies on you PS3 and no Games. HAHAHAHAHAH!!!
most likely say HD-DVD is dead! You can almost guarantee it. I hate the BDA!
More studios maybe(what 1 more). But I would rather have Universal and Paramount over FOX (always delays) and Disney (Kid movies) any day. If your T.V. is good enough it will upscale 1080i to 1080p. And Blur Ray is not the better format.
I agree. How could anyone thinking of of getting into HDM not jump on this? It is such a good deal I want to buy a second HD-DVD Player.
If you have a good t.v. it should upscale the 1080i to 1080p , so why don't you do research insted of posting stupid comments to make yourself feel better about not having a HD-DVD player. No Movies , WTF are you talking about!? XBots? More stupid comments.Grow up!!
I think Sears owns K-Mart, So they may only be selling HD-DVD players as well(besides the PS3). Anyway , great news for HD-DVD!
Best Buy has sold out of their $198 HD-DVD Players.
Things are starting to roll for HD DVD. The public is starting to catch on ,little by little.
by Sony into buying into their unfinished Movie Format.
It is not to late though you can still change to HD-DVD.
Players are Hot!!!
Speak for yourself dude. I own a PS3 and don't own a single Bluray movie. I have 24 HD-DVD's though. I hate Sony for doing this to the PS3, a powerfull GAME machine is now thought of as a movie player. Sad.
Anyway 90,000 more HD-DVD players out there meens 90,000 more people will be buying HD-DVD's. Oh and 50,000 stand alone blueray players sold? That's Lifetime , Right?
