Good news for HD-DVD. Stand alone sales are what's going to make the biggest difference in this war.
Because they will win the Stand Alone sales which is really all that matters. You REALLY think that the PS3 can become everyone's next DVD player? There are over 150,000,000 DVD players in the wild, and you really think all these people with DVD players will just go buy the PS3 (a video game system) at $400 a pop ,just to watch HD movies? Is there a pipe in one of your hands? And what is in it?

I love the Wii for the Virtual Console, by far my favorite feature.But the public probley loves it cause you can act like an maniac and have fun with most of it's games. And it's $249.00
this is an obsolete profile 1.0 Blu-ray player. No wonder it's so cheap. Otherwise a good deal.

Uncharted was one of my favorite games of the year.
Not many exclusive games Worth getting compared to the 360. Uncharted and R & C are both incredible games but just those 2 cannot compete with Bioshock , Halo3, Gears, Mass Effect, Forza , Blue Dragon and the definitive version of the Orange Box. Although next year looks pretty good for the PS3.

HD-DVD has not even done 1 BOGO yet. This is really telling, as they have not felt it is the right time yet.
Even with Bluray preicous 2:1 sales lead.It just doesn't seem to phase HD-DVD. Bluray has been doing their pathetic BOGO on every HD-DVD new release day this year. So scared to lose a single week.When HD-DVD does their first BOGO sale it will probly come at the time of a huge announcment.
Is It so hard to understand that not every person who buys a PS3 will buy Bluray movies. Most people buy the PS3 to play video games. Shocking!!!
It is sad that the PS3 is now considered a movie player first and a game machine 2nd. I know this may be shocking to you but not everyone who bought a PS3 bought it for it's trojan horse movie format. HD-DVD has no trojan horse factor, if you bought an HD-DVD player your going to buy HD-DVD's.
Yes it's 1080p. And the HD-DVD version has been on Amazon.com's top 20 Overall dvd sales list for over a month now. Pretty impressive for a $70 boxset on a so called dying format.
Just keep calling HD-DVD dead. How many times is this? It's pointless to even argue with Bluray fanboys, they won't see the red light till it's to late. So happy that the PS3 they bought just so happens to play blurays. It makes me laugh. BTW , I bought my first UMD today - Starship Troopers for $4.99 , it was sitting in the most depressing lonely bin ever. But UMD's won't be lonely for long, Sony has another format that will be joining them soon.
It is one my favorite franchises ever. I would play it no matter what , and I can't wait to. Best fighting gameplay ever, IMO.
If you read the article shawnpfiore linked , it does say "There's the occasional better-looking texture on 360"
Also, I am tired of $hitty PS3 ports. I own 1 game for the thing. DMC4 is the next multi-platform game I will get, and I plan on getting it for the PS3. But not without waiting for reviews of both versions. The proof is there, besides CoD4, most PS3 ports are horrendous.
