For Sony and MS it's about the investment they have to make to emulate the Cell and PowerPC architecture. Also the amount of people needed to continuously update the emulators for problematic games.
MS did it with the 360 and gave up after a while.
If you want a child, you need to be aware that it's probably the biggest choice that you'll make in your entire life. Yet it only costs a horny couple and a six pack to produce.
It's harder to get a fishing license than it is to have a child and you'll never get the license by accident.
At least people should pass a test or some inspection before they are allowed to procreate, so we can avoid the infinite negligence of children these days.
The shear volume of blog-like gaming opinions by "gaming journalists" does make me want to sigh a lot.
But that is freedom of speech and that it great, since it gives a voice to a community. At any one point in time you can feel the pulse of what people are feeling and thinking.
If any amount of control(even quality control) is initiated it would be horrible. Then it would become like global news, where information is filtered to what someone thinks...
Welcome to the next gen:
Directly after the presentation people were disappointed and it sparked genuine concerns over the direction MS is taking the next gen.
If you believe people are disappointed and concerned because it's the cool thing to do, then either you haven't seen the presentation or you're not a gamer.
Just to recap:
So where to begin? Anita's videos have been torn apart over and over again, she doesn't bother to provide evidence or anything that'll support her argument. She doesn't defend her claims and why should she? She already received her $150k on kickstarter and who knows how much in youtube royalties.
The white knight who wrote this article on the other hand is quite funny though, spewing out misinformation like a politician on a date.
"Sarkee...
I think the market they're catering for already have a super desktop PCs and then buys a super gaming laptop every 2 years. Like those people who buy a new GFX card every 4 months and then acts like it's normal online.
I believe the Uncharted engine is a well oiled machine, yet an engine optimized for the cell cores is foreign to the x86 architecture PS4 will use. So essentially they'll have to reprogram the core of the engine. That core will hopefully suck all the power out of the hardware.
But the leap from the PS2 to the PS3 was much greater than from PS3 to PS4. So I personally don't remotely expect a jump graphically like with, for instance, Ridge Racer 5/Summoner to Motorstorm...
That's the most misandric thing I've heard in a long time.
Imagine someone says all women in their twenties are weak for slutting around, not bothering to marry and push babies out.
Misandry is the dislike of, contempt for, or ingrained prejudice against men (i.e. the male sex). - Wikipedia
I'll wait for the game of the year edition.
Is this Ryan Shaw's last console generation? Will he ever buy a console again? Tune in next week to find out!
Or not...
Interesting... People farmed act 1 before they nerfed Inferno, guess it went full circle.
At the moment, the idea of farming act 3 for hours, identifying all the rares and asking myself "will this sell?" thousands of times just tires me out.
There's just so many good games coming out so frequently, that it becomes difficult to stay in a abusive relationship and hope things will change. It has been over a year. It's me, not you. Adios.
- Yeah, they are still there, but updated. From Kazunori:
"We won’t be making all the Standard cars from GT5 into Premium models, and we won’t make all of the GT5′s Standard cars fully “Premiumized”.
Up until now, we used to categorize them as Standard and Premium because there were functional differences between them: some of the Standard models might not have tuning parts, or couldn’t be used in Photo Mode. That will all be cleared so every model can ...
Can't say I'm jumping out of my chair. After GT5's Standard Cars, I feel betrayed. They literally just copied the car models and textures from GT4.
Reminds me of the TV in Idiocracy:
Love your Face Time Party Snoozer. I agree that it falls short of being Lovecraftian. Strangely I still have "fond" memories of Call of Chthulu, maybe because it was so damn difficult.
*Sigh* Anita Sarkeesian has been torn apart so many times, thunderfoots video in KillrateOmega's comment is a couple among many.
If she can make logical arguments and defend it, then more power to her, but she doesn't.
I think everyone should watch the video below:
Some PS3 models, like the 80GB Metal Gear Solid PS3, emulated PS2 games. Sony did hire ex-Bleem! members after the lawsuit to work on emulation long ago.
Yet Sony removed emulation and "other OS", since it allows easy access to the PS3's hardware, potentially bypassing standard PS3 security.
I would love to see emulation make a comeback though, hopefully not exclusively through Gaikai.
Is this seriously the best topic the author could come up with today?
