Looking at how things have been going, yeah I think ti is wise to temper expectations. I think the theater thing was something they thought would be cool, but it just made people think something great is going to happen.
With the way things are going I don;t think people will like Sony's E3. Expectations are going to be shot down big time.

There is no way that this ends well. A lot of people are going to over hype themselves to disappointment.
RE 1-3 is the old school- cause those games were actually "survival horror." RE 4-6 were anything but survival horror and were "action horror." So long as it's int he vein of RE1-3 but updated for modern times it should be all right. Problem is though they'll probably go with "action horror" for the casuals and dude bros.
Jack may have "won" the last E3 but at what price? It was too much on him, with all that blood he had on his hands. So he left. No different from Solid Snake going off to live in the Alaskan wilderness after killing Big Boss in the NES Metal Gear game. Let Jack have his peace at the new company.

Sony would have to develop a holographic game console or PS9 for me to go watch a press event in a movie theater.

Lets not forget how the gaming press also aided heavily in the demise of the Dreamcast. Nintendo at the time could do no wrong, but Dreamcast always got EPIC HATE from the same gaming press. It was sad to watch Dreamcast get murdered like that back then.
Funny how Wii U not included in this, bout time they stopped with trying to put lip stick on that last gen pig- that or the author assumes it's already over for Wii U.
