Yes and no... People of all ages need stimulation, and kids are particularly vulnerable to social isolation. isolated people tend to act in pathological ways, add in the hormone crazies that kids go through as they enter puberty, and you have the potential to develop life long problems.
Really parents... Take your kids to the park, couple of times a week, let them run around and play with other kids. Go camping once in a while (camping at state parks is almost free...) ...

The stand alone Kinect uses a power dongle, the included Kinect, plugs right into the special plug on the slim for the Kinect...
Way back in the age of Pentium 3, I made a liquid cooled computer that worked on the thermostatic pump principal, using glycol + water as the coolant.
IMO it worked better than several DIY active pump systems Ive seen since then.
Also, it was a pretty easy mod, and I still wonder why the cooling companies have not built a standard cooler based on the principal...
That computer worked for better than 7 years with the only moving part b...

Once the Kinect effect takes over in Europe, which it will later this year, The xbox will sell better in Europe as well. But that won't happen until the next round of marketing, which won't start until this summer at E3.
After that, the xbox will sell 80-90 million over its 11 year lifetime, and the ps3 will sell 60-70 million. It will be a definitive victory for the xbox over the ps3.
But the wii will still win.
I live next to a mall that has two GameStops in it. One was an EBGames before the merger. Im not suggesting how GameStop run their business, but they have some room to contract without doing a BlockBuster at the moment.
None the less, digital downloads are here, now. That trend will only grow. Over the next ten years places like GameStop are doomed...
That is a straw man argument, it presumes that there are no games on the xbox, which simply isn't the case. It also presumes that you will like all of the exclusives that will be released, which you probably will not.
And even for an avid gamer such as myself... my backlog of games is... well overwhelming... No more games could be released for the xbox tomorrow, and I would have enough games to play for the next two years...

I think it more likely that Steam sets up a casual game service that sits along side the media players on the TVs and DVD players that have those computer like services built in, than actually making it onto a console...
I had high hopes for OnLive in this group, but so far OnLive has been severe meh for me.
