The greatest trick the devil ever pulled was to convince the world he didn't exist ...
That report about 10 million is a couple of months old now. I have no idea how much it is (fakechartz.com numbers were wildly off for the xbox in north american, they undercounted by 150k in febuary) but it is now greater than 10 million... Assuming the same sales rates, it is probably more like 15 million sold now, but no less than 12-13 million.
Just look at how well Kinect games continue to sell, and XBL is just now starting to release Kinect games for demos.
Well 60% of the time that I am in a party, people are wanting to play in the free XBLA games, this would simply enhance that... Free games, but customization is extra.
And like it or not, the crazy scientist hair on my avatar gets lots of "oh how do I get that?"
So sorry, social networking is taking off on the xbox. Microsoft is responding to that.
If they stick to the hard core sci-fi literature that it is based upon, all of civilization will eventually die... But for an abundance of reasons I suspect they will choose a candy coated version, because the reality of Galaxy wide extinction events is probably too hard for people not versed in current thinking in hard core sci-fi to accept.
So it will end "happily ever after".
And a movie...
Ahh. so sorry that you are sooooo wrong;P
Well except on the ps3 you only have a single useable CPU core, all the other cores will require several years of refinement before they become useable.
The xbox with its 3 cores with 6 threads and flat memory space would be much more useable in that sort of environment. But Microsoft has said in no uncertain terms that xbl is a closed system.
You don't want a real os on your console... You want to stick with the efi/bios techniques that they use now, because it lets the game developers have at the hardware directly, where as if they introduced some sort of OS on there... well then you have all the problems that come with having an OS installed, and on a game console you don't want those.
Sooooooo.... All the utility of a Kinect mouse interface, but it needs a wand...
It is time for GTA to have destructable buildings, and let me steal an atom bomb and blow up the whole city.
The answer to the question about why the console version only supports 24 players...
This gen character models have 3000 to 5000 polygons in each model. Both consoles can display something like 100k to 150k polys at 30fps, depending on what you are doing with the shaders. 24 (characters) x 4000(polys per character) gets you right in that range where all the left over polys are used for background pictures and what not (~25k polys for the playspace layer).
Incorrect, those do not look like CGI, those look bog standard for what we have come to expect from console games this generation. Which is to say, they can be compelling, but there is nothing there that we have not seen before...
Sigh...
You guys gonna make me use the list again?
I am against "collectors editions" because anything that says it is collectable is not.
Some people are against you having the choice to have little DLC updates to your game at a buck each.
This is the type of DLC I am ok with, on the other hand, I am against DLC that is available launch day, and is basically the rest of the game... See Mass Effect 2.
which the purpose of said DLC is to destroy the used value of the disk, because they include a code with the new disk that gets you the DLC for free...
Yeah, but the video cards alone, cost as much as a console...
There was a no-cd website a few years ago, that every no-cd mod on the site had a Trojan horse virus on it, and they claimed right on the web page, via social engineering, that they were all false positives.
Also, some guy was showing screenshots off of his Crysis 2 mod the other day, and in one of the pics it showed that his video card was running at 68 Celsius (160f) which is only a little cat hair (modern solder starts to flow at 180f)in the cooling fan away from hozing yo...
Except this is another one of those bogus numbers, where they ignore the sales data that both Sony and Microsoft give as part of their quarterly SEC filings and resort to bogus techniques to get the count.
Lets just go ahead and ignore all of these and wait for actual IDG numbers, or better yet, the two companies SEC filings.
First rule of XBLU Club is you don't talk about XBLU Club.
The number one issue I have on Steam is having to kick people from a game because they don't have a mic...
And then also on steam you get the guy who has selected as his sound source "record what you hear"
And there is no more or less trash talk on xbl than there is steam... Which is to say, just leave games if you find someone trash talking and find a game where people don't trash talk...
Better yet, play a game that peopl...
uncompressed audio and textures actually take longer to load than compressed media...
Edit:
I just would like to know if you know what a plethora is?
