Nostalgia and brand are very powerful. It's not a knock on Nintendo, it's just how it's been for them. This gen moreso. They also did it with the nes/ super nintendo. It's not a new thing.
The difference here is, that if this was another company, there would be all sorts of pitchforks and (false) outrage from the gaming community and media. Since it's from Nintendo, gamers will apologize while buying it, and will buy more than one version. The media will hail it as the best in the series, and give it tens, and then months later, when it's safe, will write articles on how overrated the game is.
To be fair, I really liked the tomb raider reboot, but uncharted has it beat with characterization. I love the dynamic between sully, Nate, elena, chloe, etc. The banter, and the interactions are some of the best in the industry. The gameplay has always been good, and tomb raider is pretty good also. I would give uncharted the edge, myself. Actually, I would love to see a young sully game myself.
Yet, here we are. I would say that, while the last of us was great, it left alot on the table. I would rather see a sequel to a game with a great world and characterization, than some of the crap sequels we usually get. I wont name any specific games, as to avoid hurting fanboy feelings.
Lol! This is a horrible list. But, whatever. The only thing this list shows is the declining nature of the industry. Except for dark souls. Love the soulsborne games.
Hes only banned from ea events, and has been warned already. Hes free to be a prick everywhere else. Maybe now he can play garbageman, or salesperson. Although, he would probably be fired for being underqualified and attitude.
Nah. Alot of people eat crow later on. That's why we have articles like " what an underappreciated gem", or "top ten games you've never played". Not all mixed review games are winners, but you wont know if you dont like it if you dont try it. I usually wait until the big sales and buy games, so I dont feel too bad buying it at 60 bucks.
