Yeah, I see what you mean. More blame should be placed on the hackers, but the media like to grill primarily the big companies, Sony in this case.
People are blaming sony due to their poor handling of communication to PSN users. Many believe Sony should have immediately warned users of the possibility that this outage could result in the possibility that personal information/credit card info, etc. could be compromised.
Nearly a week's wait is surely a long period before you are warned that personal info may have been compromised.

My younger sister said she had a great time doing it. Although, I was upstairs with my gears 3 beta :)
