If that was the only thing you have been wrong about *cough* pretending to be other races "cough* it would be one thing.

The Witcher and God of War aren't politically acceptable? Maybe it's you and not the games. I played Far Cry Watch Dogs and The Witcher and God of War regardless of my political opinions. The problem isn't the games...

That's funny coming from you.

I remember when you went on a rant about how you weren't going to buy Farcry 5 because it was "an attack on white Christian males." And your tirade about Watch Dogs 2 and other games you weren't going to buy for political reasons.

Your history shows you value "good games" far less than your political message.

Your damaging you own cause... Or more realistically your a fake account (made an hour ago) trying to discredit people who are trying to make valid arguments.

Sony is down 10% Microsoft is up 15% yet PS4 has still sold more than 3x the number of consoles so far this year.

Well... what does that have to do with the topic at hand. I still own my PS1 PS2 PS3 and a PS4 so how am I missing out on games? I have more access to back library than Xbox with it's "approved list" of games.

2772d ago 8 agree26 disagreeView comment

So much of that is said here is wrong. I don't remember ever having to ditch my old consoles... I still have old consoles dating back to Atari.

And second Xbox doesn't have "true backwards compatibility" they have a approved list of games. True backwards compatibility like Sony had would mean you could stick any game in the drive and it would work. This is not the case with Xbox. Many games are compatible, but many more are not and probably never wi...

How about a list of PC - PlayStation crossplay games that starts with the PS3 and continues to grow to this day.

Cool, I wish they would bring back Rorona she is and always will be my favorite.

@kevnb

AMD has said the console market kept them in business. Ryzen and Vega (and Navi) were built with profits from console sales. Clearly they are making a good amount of profit from the sale of 100+ million consoles.

As I explained above, Intel and Nvidia haven't invested in the APU market the way AMD has. AMD has a product the others don't.

To be fair Phil says a lot of things. He said they wouldn't show games that were far off anymore... what's the release date on that new Halo game?

If I was going to read into Phil's comment I might think he knows that PS5 is close and he is just trying to disuade Xbox owners from jumping ship, similar to how they talked about the X before Sony announced the Pro then didn't launch the X for nearly 2 years.

@GUTZnPAPERCUTZ

I think that's fairly unlikely, the reason AMD has been the go to for the high end consoles is due to the fact they make both CPU's and GPU's and have invested in low power SOC (APU). The idea of having Intel make a CPU and then Frankensteining it together with an Nividia GPU just seems impractical. Not impossible of course, but I think it's likely that both next gen consoles will use AMD hardware.

For what it's worth...

My take on the MS thing is simply that they aren't ready for a new console yet.

The X for all intensive purposes is a next gen console. The rumor is that the X is being sold for a loss. And they by this point have only sold a few million. It's hard to see Microsoft rushing into a new console so soon after the release of the X. Even the WiiU sold 18 million before they released the Switch.

For PlayStation it's easier because they launche...

Chris, Sony isn't paying to have the Yakuza team put their games on anything, they have been on PlayStation for around 20 years.

And I would argue that buying a publisher is worse than buying a game... your buying all their games. But don't misunderstand that as saying that I think buying studios is inherently bad. I just find what your saying to be contradictory to other things you have said. *cough* like other discussions.

If there was no advantage to new hardware we would still be playing Atari.

While it's true the hardware isn't the biggest money maker it's selling software and leading market share that are important. New hardware is the way to that goal.

That said Sony has said that the PS4 was profitable from launch unlike the PS3.

It seems likely that PS5 is in production and using a GPU that isn't even on the market yet. So it's advanced.

Speed isn't really relevant like that. A Ryzen at 1 ghz can complete more operations per cycle than a Pentium can at 5 ghz..

It safe to say that the clock speeds will be lower than the desktop variant for cost saving and heat and energy consumption reasons but it will still be a significant improvement over the current gen.

I take all rumors as simply rumors. But lets look at the information so far. We know for a fact that Sony has submitted code revisions for Ryzen we also know that chip designs for a console have been submitted to Global Foundry for 7nm production. And we have this rumor that suggests that Navi which releases next year is being paired on a SOC for PS5. If those things are true it's completely possible that a 2019 release could happen.

I am not saying that it will hap...
