Awesome, I was waiting on this announcement.
The acquisition was Playfab a company that mainly hosts mobile phone games.

I'd recommend the PS4 version because it will have 75+% more players especially if you live in Europe or Asia.
@Septic
It's an optional service. Its not replacing your physical media.
Your short sighted, you don't understand. It's small steps towards a goal. The Xbox launch tried to be a huge step in removing ownership and that was unpopular so now with the exact same goal in mind they are tying small steps, but the end goal is the same.
I'm a consumer and a game collector and I don't like this. I like to buy and own my games and it's been clear since the original Xbox announcement that Microsoft's goal is moving the industry towards zero ownership.
@Death
The split will be 75-85% PS4, just like Final Fantasy, Tekken and every other Japanese game that has been on both this generation.
This is just typical Phil saying what people want to hear. Why don't you talk after you have done something instead of just saying things?
On top of this I doubt there is any proof that this method of sales will generate more than selling a game traditionally. the 95/100 other games on the service certainly aren't free to Microsoft. After royalties and any other fees to have them on the service is payed it's pretty safe to assume the profit margin on putting a...
@slate91
Ya know a commonly overlooked fact is that Microsoft only has partial backwards compatibility. Last gen I got the multi-platform games on PC or PS3 so on my 360 what I bought was mostly niche games and when I look at the list of games Microsoft has doled out to people almost none of my 360 games on on the list. The only system that ever really had backwards compatibility were the 60GB PS3's which hardware played every PS2 and PS1 game.
You have to be blind to not be able to see where this is headed. Microsoft has shown there goal is to eliminate retail and force digital only. It started with their always online 24 hour check ins and it won't stop till they get enough short sighted people to sign on then they will cut the cord on ownership.
I like the fact that I can still play my Nintendo, Sega, PS1, PS2, PS3 games whenever I want years after I bought them. It's unfortunate that your so shortsi...
Great, no more owning your games. No more playing your games after Microsoft decides your done with them.
How quickly people forget the start of this generation when they tried to pull there always online BS.
Have fun when you have to pay subscriptions to all the game companies separately and they all start raising prices.
@Vasto
You got it.
No more $65 for exclusives. Only $9.99 for a whole month!
Great, so what happens after they remove the game from the library or after this gen and how long do you think the cost will stay $9.99 not forever that's for sure.
I paid less than $9.99 for many of my PS1, PS2 and PS3 games and I can still play them today for free.
I completed the poll
You guys say should buy game studios all the time They should buy Sony they should buy Sega they should buy Square/Enix they should buy Remedy they should buy Crytek. These are all companies I have seen people say Microsoft should buy, how many have they bought.... zero.
As for PUBG they apparently tried to buy exclusivity and as we know Bluehole still is planning to launch it on other consoles so they couldn't even buy that. Again Microsoft can't buy what is not ...
@yeahokwhatever
If your dog was making $10,000 per year would you sell your dog for $1,000?
I'm really looking forward to this game.
That's really expensive and I can't see myself ever buying it. That said Atelier is one of the few games which I bought DLC for not because it changed the game but just to support the continued development of the series for which there is nothing else like it.
Hah that's funny because xbox doesn't exist in about 40 million more homes than PS4.
I bought all the Sony exclusives last year and almost all of the 3'rd party exclusives too. I look forward to doing the same in 2018.
@darthv72
"PS4 will have some big releases in 2018 but i wouldnt say its better but more on par with 2017."
On par with 2017... so you mean selling 3x as much software and more than double the consoles and easily the best game line-up in two generations?
That's what you want to believe
Your looking at a "rumor" and you want it to be something that it's not. This is what they acquired. But keep believing every single rumor and pretending it's whatever you want.
