yeah it's a shame that people like to pretend that 2008 began when the 360 started to outsell the PS3.
But CNET has a another problem, they seem to be "stuck in early 2007". that must have been good times for them. So good that they did not want to let them go.
EDIT: Screw it, there's no point in reasoning with idiots.
the reason why xbots get a hard time for worrying about sales is because xbots measure the quality of a game by it's sales, which is very childish.
first off who says the Ps3 was supposed to launch the same say as the xbox?, any proof of this?
secondly, you do realize that the 360 really did come out a year early right? as in 2005. While the Ps3 came out in 2006, giving Microsoft a free extra 8 million console sales.
So how on earth can you make a 3 year comparision when one of the consoles is only 2 years old. You are basically saying that you expect the Ps3 to accomplish in 2 years what the 360 accomplished in...
i guess i can understand that. and taping the same button repeatedly isn't exactly the greatest thing in the world. I'm waiting for an RPG that has combat like Ninja Gaiden. Where it's action but not necessary relying on one button. Maybe Versus XIII.
and it's not like I hate turn-based combat, I did the old Pokemon games(which i'm not very proud of).
how on earth can you call an action RPG(or hack n slash) boring? especially compared to turn-based. that just not logical, because turn-based combat is the SLOWEST type of combat in video games.
you do realize that when the first information about this game was revealed back in 2006, there was no open/gamer zones. it was just one comment section.
So I'm gonna have to call BS on that claim.
it said the DOWNLOADABLE CONTENT would not pay. As in they won't make much from sells of the DLC itself. and Microsoft will make even less from it.
EDIT: no one who sold the game would go out and buy it again, and the one's that buy used copies are only helping gamestop out. Since neither developers nor publishers get money from used game sells. Why do you think developers make such a fuss over the selling of used games?
it's only 20 bucks, MS get 6 dollars a pop, and that 100 million isn't garuntieed. Not to mention no one knows what it cost to make the downloadable content. It may not be as long but it's pretty much the same game with MORE stuff, a new location, and new voice actors(that must have costed a pretty penny).
and think about this, if the GTAIV was sold at sixty bucks, and this game(while a bit shorter) is almost of it's calibur(content wise). then does that mean they are already ta...
you said a game that has a story, online multiplayer, with hundreds of levels on it, and the ability create your own levels and edit existing levels was short. not only that, you said that 2 of the best games released this year sucked compared Lost Odyssey and Fable 2. No he didn't say Gears 2, ladies and gentlemen. He said a glitched out "ok" looking game and a subpar RPG from 2007.
do you really need me to tell how stupid that was.
I was refering to that part of your comment, bro.
do me a favor and go look at the highest rated exclusive on that list, and while you at go look at the 2nd highest exclusive.
do they have anything in common? i'll even give you a hint; they can both only be found on one platform, the same platorm. it's start's with a P but it ain't the PC.
PS: what happen to metacritic? not good enough anymore?
"Microsoft, with multiplatform titles like Left4Dead(available on PC and the Xbox360)"
EDIT: all he did was clarify what platforms he was talking about, that doesn't change the fact that he knew what he was talking about when he said it was multi-plat. so the whole "he said left4dead was multi-plat so he's wrong" excuse is dead.
EDIT2: @butterfinger, cut the bullsh!t dude, you just edited your comment. I saw it before you changed it so that "...
are better than Killzone 2, Uncharted 2,Infamous, GOWIII and GT5(both of which may ship in 09). the only game that even comes close is RESI 5.
ok then, time to put up or shut up.
Go on and prove him wrong. Oh wait, looks like you can't because you haven't made one good counter argument. This guy had the numbers, made great points, and even used the you and the other bots' favorite site. (metacritic). now that is getting "sucker slapped".
speaking of that, how on earth did sony get sucker slapped. By gears and it's one week of good sales? that cancels out MGS4, LBP, and R2? even the highest rated j...
now every 360 fanboy will harp on this one minor oversight, as if it makes his argument any less valid.
as if it's any different than the fanboy garbage posted on this about how the 360 won 2008. sigh, double standards I guess.
you ASSUME that just because someone doesn't mentions the wii sells, that they don't ecknowledge them. Do you want us to say it every time it happens? How about we mention that the sun came up everytime it happens too? Besides wii sales are common sense by now. WE GET IT, the wii sells truckloads. It's the PS3 that everyone claims is dead or whatever, which is why these sales are significant for the PS3. the wii's sells are not news in the least bit, because they've always been high.
...
and what if each game had it's own power related to them. like what if in the sequel you could control wind or fire or something? that would be awesome.
first of all, it's never smart to take a guess without reading the article(that's the fastest way to looking stupid).
and secondly, when have PS3 fans, ever worried about attach rates?
and most importantly, what does the attach rates have to do with anything? I mean really, why does that matter?
