"Applications for the FINAL FANTASY XIV Open Beta Test have been temporarily suspended. Please wait until we are ready to accept new applications and then try again."
Thanks SE. So now I not only know FFXIV is a joke of an MMO from playing the closed beta and reading a bunch of info about how you're going to screw our playtime, but you cant even get your beta running correctly. I'm not sure how you're going to succeed with this product.

Every console has had it's long development cycle. I'd rather have a "It'll be done when it's done" than receive a messy product. Here's a prime example of a product that will be a masterpiece when it's finished.

To be honest, I still don't understand why they brought Mass Effect 2 to the PS3 in the first place, if the first one isn't on there as well. I mean, one of the best experiences of the Mass Effect franchise, at least for me, is the fact that my character is ported over to each game making it a unique experience for each player.
I'm glad PS3 only owners are finally experiencing Sci-Fi greatness, but there's a pretty big chunk of the story missing from their jou...
Lol no you're not. The closed beta ended, and the open beta doesn't start for another 3 days or so. :P
Yeah that was the beta from about 4-5 months ago. Bungie already publicly stated that the game went through an overhaul after the beta.

"Detectable and bannable via PSN."
"Apparently doesn't work for a majority of games."
"Not updateable through firmware."
It says right on the main site:
"PS Jailbreak disables forced software updates and will never brick your console."
"Supports all games (it does not allow backups of bluray movies , dvd movies , or past consoles games)"
"Fully updatable with new featur...
I don't really know what to compare Halo: Reach to, except for it being like... the Little Big Planet of first-person shooters. But aside from what looks like a solid story, this game has (from what I've seen) a limitless amount of content.
The fact that we'll see DLC in the future as well with more maps, possibly more weapons, new game modes, etc.... this might be the only game I play for a long time.
I wonder if people realize that playing StarCraft in Korea is actually considered a national sport.
Mostly in-game. About half-way through, it jumps to CGI.
You're a little off in regards to the RAM. From what you're stating, the PS3 has 512 MB GDDR3 AND 256 MB XDR. What's actually true, is it has 256 MB GDDR3 and 256 MB XDR. Also, "sharing" memory compared to having just 512 MB between the CPU and GPU are not the same. For one, sharing memory means that something is going to be hindered when said memory is shared. Having 512 MB between the CPU and GPU is just that... 512 MB.
In my eyes, I'd give RAM to...
Actually you're right. The original Dualshock controller never had analog sticks, and was ergonomically designed for the directional pad. Later on, the sticks were implemented, and caused the controller to not support the same ergonomic design that it was originally intended for.
Really considering cancelling my pre-order as well. As much as I am a fan of FFXI, the beta was a jumbled mess, and previews for the game aren't turning out well. It almost seems like SE just grabbed features from other MMOs and slapped them together without worrying if they would work or not.
In all honesty, I'm not sure why you would defend this title anymore. It just isn't turning out to be that great. Maybe down the road, after a year or so when all's said...
Wow... this is actually a good read, and very informative. Gotta say, I am damn pumped for Halo: Reach, and I have the legendary edition on reserve.
"In XIV's case though, exp or "Physical level" is across jobs/weapons/skills. you will keep the same physical level no matter which skill you switch to. SE is only limiting Physical Level and NOT skill level."
Your physical level will determine what you're proficient at, so I'm not entirely sure how one could dismiss such a thing. In fact, your skill(job) level doesn't do much of anything aside from grant new abilities and skill points for ...
Samsung TVs have such a glaring flaw in the majority of their SKUs that I would never touch them. If I were to go with a nice HDTV, it would be a Sony, RCA or some cheap brand version to get me by.
I went through 3 Samsungs before I returned it and bought a Sony for $50 more.
I was about to say the same damn thing.
Find me a title that looks this superb that runs at 60 FPS on a console with every object and surface being individually textured.

It's in phase 3 of the beta, and releases in less than a month and probably goes gold within the next couple of weeks. The beta ends in the next couple of weeks. There isn't much you can change at this point.
Also, how could you not see the issue in this? I have people who hated FFXI and wont even touch FFXIV, but even they're able to see such a glaring flaw. What's the point of giving us the ability to change jobs on the fly, if 70% of the jobs available will...
"I have to admit, it looks good, but Killzone 3 has my money first and I am not a big KZ fan"
You guys are seriously making your purchase decisions based on the look of the game? I mean... I usually don't care, but does anyone actually give a damn about the gameplay anymore?
The DLC explains a bit as well.
