A "TV" is simply a monitor these days with the ability to connect to a cable box. If the console supported resolutions higher than 1080p, one could simply just plug it into a monitor that supports the resolution via HDMI.
Unless the next generation of consoles will have games that have a $500 million budget with technology that has been 11-15 years in the making, as well as endless amounts of storage for the audio alone, I highly doubt it.
