The lack of new footage/info on this since the disastrous E3 showing hasn't done much for my interest either.
The developers came across as bumbling juniors. The crappy demo code certainly didn't help either.
I hope we'll be pleasantly surprised, but I wonder if we'll see this one in '08, if ever.
Severely meh'd on this one. Hopefully they'll excise half of the assiness from the game and just release this as "Assin", but even that opti...
I hate even the suggestion of instigation, but after some wine and beer, I can't help saying: you just *know* he's going to start blathering on about "120FPS@1080P 4all GamEz!1!and noAAAAA gameshard to devlop4!1" any minute now.
The immediate problem is software emulation of the GS+EDRAM. The bandwidth was so high that current opinion says it's not (yet) possible.
Whether or not they can surmount this in the future is unknown. If it is possible, it won't be made known until at least after the holiday season.
As the 80GB model stimulated demand for the 60GB SKU, I have a feeling this 40GB model is likewise stimulating demand for the 60GB and 80GB SKUs for the holiday season. At the sam...
So, only reviews consisting of 9s and 10s are to be approved? is that the logic?
This guy actually has a point. Halo 3's perfection lies in its multiplayer gameplay, not it's single-player mode.
You only posted that an hour ago, and hourS ago this was proven to be false.
Who's exploding now?
Time to ban hdgamenews.com.
Good find, Meus.
"Rockstar really wanted to make a game that you can truly only do on PS3, harnessing the power of CELL and Blu-ray disc and this deal lets them do just that.."
Exactly the same quote.
Like a rep would actually say "Ooops." ha.
aaquib5: You're a fool. Meus, if anything, would be glad to have "GTA7" on his PS3. Don't be such a fanboy.
Sounds fake to me.
"We handed Rockstar a signed blank check because we were short sighted enough to let Grand Theft Auto's exclusivity get away from us. Oops!"
Stealth troll?
Don't be so gullible people. The poorly written blog-post has yet to be confirmed anywhere else. Wait and see before you freak out/taunt/cry/laugh/splooge.
edit: LOL @ Disagree-diots
Looove me some Oni.
Bring on Oni 2.
There are still BC models if that's important, so the budget PS3 should still do very well for people who just want the PS3/HD experience.
At least it has a harddrive. ;)
Rumours confirmed. Now we can move on and look forward to new IPs, and new Halos.
"[360] outsells PS3 3-1"
Not after accounting for defective units.
EDIT: Sorry, this was supposed to be replying to the below post.
Wait until everyone sees Timesplitters 4, which is going to severely take the p1ss out of Halo, Gears, GTA, etc... Lookout.
EDIT: Quite on-topic actually. This issue was about game parody, and TS4 is one of the next big ones to have a whole bigass can'o'parody for you.
If you had been paying attention, you'd know that Free Radical has already launched their parody-salvo attacking the big guns ("more vehicles than Gears!"). If such small-scale GTA-re...
Nah, you're not putting anyone down. That 16.5M figure *is* bizarre.
I suspect that translation is the issue. If that material is correct, I would guess that the "16.5M" must be referring to shipped numbers.
"Wasn't the PS3 supposed to sell 6 million PS3's already at march 2006?"
Their shipping target was 6M, they ended up with about 5.5M. Not bad. Total sales were around 3.5M.
Don't forget that the 360's total first year sales total was 5.6M. The PS3 was 5.5ish after 9 months. Again, not bad. It's certainly not out-pacing the others, but at least you could get your facts right.
Yet again you're wrong.
It was an est. 5.5M sold-through by the end of July, not shipped.
The PS3 hasn't even been out 11 months, Nancy.
The sales figures for end of July were 5.5M est. sold-through.
It pays to know what you're talking about before you start arguing with people.
Edit: To the disagreediot: Check your facts. Sony confirmed at the TGS that they've sold-through at least between 5-5.5M.
It's a difficult one to interpret. The Google translation apparently uses "run out" in place of "ship", but they're using the 5.5 million number, which is "sold through"/to customers.
If they think they can actually sell-through 16.5M... well... That's pretty ballsy.
Far out, man.
I approve this only because of Dvorak's old high opinion of the Amiga. It's been a bit of love'n'hate with him, for me, but at least he's coherent and literate. I do believe this is the first mention of Dvorak on this site. Like... Wow.
"Roofpig! Most unexpected."
