I would believe all PS3 owners want is PS3 exclusives, honorable Kutaragi, if the sales numbers reflected it. Unfortunately, it seems that the only exclusive that appealed to most PS3 owners has been Metal Gear Solid 4. The rest are struggling to get past 1 million sales, even in holiday times.
They can always buy an Xbox 360 for cheap nowadays. Fallout 3 extra content should be a killer too.
Though I'm not really sure if today was the correct timing to launch it.
Nintendo and Microsoft will steal a lot of attention with their performance in November.
For those who don't know, NPD numbers will be released today.
If the NPD November launch date was the correct timing for launching Home.
Microsoft and Nintendo will steal a lot of attention with their performance in America.
I'm not sure how it works though. It's integrated somehow in the dashboard? (Like NXE, which is actually, a whole new dashboard) Or you have to launch it from there and only then use it?
If it's the first, then it sounds good, if not, I'm not sure how many people will be willing to get through all the pain before, lets say, launching a game, watching a trailer or talking to friends using home.
Interesting. Sony is not in the position to slash the hardware price but they could have a chance from the software side.
I'm impressed by the way, about how slow is Resistance 2 selling, unless VgChartz is getting its numbers dramatically wrong.
More Sales = More Possibilities to retain 3rd Parties Exclusives (Games focused in 1 console) and also makes your console the main developing platform.
The most the console sales, the more profit the Xbox Division has to invest in new IPs and different projects. Makes the console making a healthy business for developers and Microsoft themselves and ensures a long lasting lifespam.
Anyone saying sales do not matter is just trying to rest importance to their console of...
I'm tired of those fanboys with blogs or poorly designed websites trying to get some desperate clicks spinning the unspinnable. This is the reality, it's the Playstation which is in serious trouble and IGN is aware of that.
Average fanboy website headline: "Xbox 360 in trouble in 2009?" "Will the Xbox 360 survive 2009?" (Though ignoring it's currently kicking arse)... and the same rubbish over and over again.
Professional website: "Who can sa...
For the record,
The Xbox 360 is also kicking ass in Mexico and a few other Latin American Countries. Wich should shrink the list of countries "Hot Tea" cares about even more =)
With these numbers, they're only a 250k difference YTD 2008 (Worldwide) between PS3 and Xbox 360. By the end of the year, the Xbox 360 should surpass PS3 sales Worldwide by at least 500k or so, unless Japan does the miracle with WKC launch.
Aprendan a hablar español sarta de huevones! XD
LBP not in the GOTY nominees... must be due to the multiplayer and control problems.
Unlike Sony with Hellgate London, Remedy has released a NEW Trailer of Alan Wake. The isn't canceled.
Both consoles are pretty much even in Europe. Perhaps Sony was a bit ahead until October, but it seems that the Xbox 360 has experienced a huge boost in that territory in November. This might have cut the gap from the root.
The interesting thing is, Sony isn't really saying "We're ahead in Europe"...
They are actually saying "Microsoft still hasn't surpassed us". Remember that both companies tied at around June 2008 and Sony surpassed the 360 from...
I agree.
The quality of these articles are going down so fast I don't remember when was the last time I read an actually articulated text about the consoles war.
They basically say. "Everyone is waiting for the PS3 to lower its price. If it's happen, will the 360 be crushed?"
Where's the substance?!
As for the answer, I'd go back to 2007 when the Ps3 had its first price cut and say it's actually unpredictable. It would depend on ma...
1. Virtually every single multiplatform game has been rated equally or slightly higher on Xbox 360 compared to the PS3 version. The article asseverates the opposite.
2. Conveniently NOT including Left 4 Dead in the list, which is scored at 89%... higher than all PS3 exclusives except MGS4 and LBP.
3. Right, only quote NPD numbers until October, where the Xbox 360 just managed to surpass the PS3. Ignore Black Friday news reporting the Xbox 360 was selling more than 2:...
INteresting how PS fans believed vGchartz as their religion when the PS was doing good over there.
As for it being precise, it's only current month sales which are estimates. They update their chartz as official numbers are released so numbers from October and below should be very close to reality.
Anyways, if you want to take Microsoft's official word instead, then the Xbox 360 has already surpassed the PS3 Worldwide in 2008, and by quite an interesting margin.
The Xbox 360 has performed its biggest WORLDWIDE week ever, even bigger than past Christmas and Worldwide launch (this one mostly due to supply)
http://vgchartz.com/hwcomps...
More than 800k units sold Worldwide, double of the PS3.
Incredible news for Microsoft. Now there's only a 250k of ...
Don't bother trying to compare list of games. Been there done that and you should ALREADY know that that is a list that sums up games that have been delayed over and over and now they all seem to be released in 2009. However, there are already rumors of some being pushed back to 2010 and if history tells us something, many of them will not see the light until then.
Never, ever give a suggested release date from Sony as granted. With Microsoft, at least we know they are almost alw...
Did you miss something? Yes. Actually, quite a lot.
1. The 360 is not slated to come in 3rd this year. It's barely 250k behind the PS3 in yearly sales and that's without counting December which statistically sales at least 4 times more consoles than regular months. That gap in favor of the PS3 for 2008 is just about to be cut and even surpassed. By the way, the 6.7Million advantage the Xbox 360 had by the end of 2006 remain exactly the same by now (End of Nov 2008) Check the Worl...
1. The PS3 did NOT outsell the Xbox 360 in 2007. Both consoles ended pretty much even by the year end (even considering the PAL launch of the PS3 which resulted in a tremendous peak). According to Vgchartz, the Xbox 360 outsold the PS3 in 2007 by 17k, which is a virtual tie considering the error range.
2. In 2008, things are looking similar. The year started with the Xbox 360 having a 6.9M advantage over the PS3. Through the year, Sony started to catch up and reduced the differen...
Need to learn a bit about Companie's Fiscal Years.
As you can see in the report, Sony's Fiscal Year end in March 31. Didn't the fact that there was no PS3 in the market before Nov 2006 give you a clue?
This includes PS3 sales all the way since October 2006 to September 2007.
