I reaaally don't think they were that close, even in real-time. But ok. Let's see where this goes.
Ultimately the good news is that towns are in this game even if they are different to the traditional ones...
I think it was a big point of contention in the first game. It sounds like they're doing the right thing now; even if they don't have traditional towns, they have characters to properly speak to unlike FF13.
Red Dead is at least kinda RPG-ish
Lightning does this in the closed-doors demo, but it's scripted and you control her fighting manuvers while she's on Odin.
Riding a Chocobo like riding a horse - if Chocobo riding feels as good as horses in Red Dead in FF13-2, I'll want to do a lot more of it..
The HD towns thing makes me laugh hard. Man.

How far beyond what bungie can do is the question? If it offers a decent amount more it'll be good. I wonder if Bungie's game with activision will charge for this stuff?

Wondering if the new IP for the Deus Ex team they mean isn't a new IP at all and is Thief, as it's no secret that's what they're working on next.
Who knows what's going on at Square Enix HQ. For the time and money spent on it, here's hoping that Versus is the game that restores FF to where it once was.
Do want this. Bad choice by Microsoft to launch Fable III PC on the same day...
