the answer was contractual.. sony spun off their mobile phone divsion into a joint venture with ericson - called sony-ericsson.. since sony-ericsson is not wholly owned by sony, sony did not want to give its gaming division intellectual property to sony-ericsson. and because of sony-ericsson, sony corp wasn't allowed to create it's own psp phone in competition..
now they have resolved contractual problems, and with the psp towards the end of its life, a psp phone...
