I think the fact that Sony hasn't done as well this generation has made Sony fanboys really insecure. PSN goes down, and it turns into a "Let's bash Xbox Live" fest. Can you imagine if this was happening to Live and not PSN? We'd never hear the end of it.

Not to mention, what happens on this website if a comment is made that has any sort of negative thing to say about Sony, even if the comment is factually accurate? It gets a disproportionate amount ...

@Persistanthug - Oops, I was off by a year. I meant to say I got it in January 2006. Anyway, my point is that I have a 360 that hasn't RROD'd that was made only a short time after the console launched.

Believe it or not, I have an original 360 that I've played the hell out of and had since January 2005! Sure, I've had to send it in twice...once for a faulty disc drive and once for a bad graphics card...but I never had the famous RROD! My 360 actually stays surprisingly cool compared to others I've seen.

"Sony will unveil exclusive after exclusive and pummel the consumers wallets into oblivion. Expect a rehaul of PSN, a complete blow-out on the NGP and a certain major title moving to exclusive status. Expect Modern Warface 3 along with a slew of major titles to support Move. Uncharted 3 will drop jaws."

...and this is why I bought a PS3. I love my 360, the few exclusives it does have are awesome, and I think the controller was custom-made for shooters. However hav...

The NGP looks cool, but I personally have never truly cared about handhelds. When it comes to E3, talk about new consoles or new console games, particularly exclusives, should be the main event.

Don't tell me that, my PS3 slim is only 1 day old!

Unfortunately, we don't get any say as to when we need to consoles. It'll all come down to when next-gen games become cheap enough to make that it becomes feasible.

As for me, I'm good for a while. I still play my 360 all the time, and I literally just bought - finally - a PS3 a few hours ago.

A lot of the sales success of a game has to do with the amount of buzz it creates. Battlefield 3 is already a success in that department, and I'm sure the buzz will only increase between now and launch, especially if they put out a kick-ass E3 trailer, which you know they will.

That says a lot to the PS2's staying power. I just can't wrap my mind around playing a last gen console. Once you experience the latest and greatest, it's hard to go back. At least for me though.

After all of the recent events in Japan it was a little weird to read that people in Japan actually bought game consoles last week. I know it's not the whole country, but still weird nonetheless.

It all has to do with money. When the tech gets inexpensive enough to produce a game without the average company having to worry about going bankrupt should it fail, then the new gen will start.

I'm in no hurry. The PS3 makes amazing looking exclusives and now the 360 will apparently start using tessellations, so this gen still has life in it graphics-wise.

Wow, I'm so shocked that they're going to make a GTA V. I thought they were going to magically stop after GTA IV.

Seriously though, I hope that GTA V looks like the GTA IV computer hack did, graphics-wise.

The first two comments on this page reflect idiotic fanboyism perfectly. Sorry Sony fans, but not everything about the PS3 and its games is going to be better than the 360 and its games, and vice versa. There are plenty of pros and cons to each.

Having a big game like Gears of War go to a Sony system may actually be good for Microsoft in the long run. I know it sounds ridiculous, but that just may be the good, swift kick in the ass that MS needs to realize that it needs to seriously invest in first party studios.

While MS isn't able to produce as many exclusives as Sony, it has held its own using other methods, but they are no substitute for having a decent amount of first party support working on exclusives at ...

I understand your point, but they probably just sent out a press release just to get the news out there, and maybe raise their stock a little bit if they're a publicly traded company.

If they made their announcement at something like the Tokyo Games Show or Consumer Elec. Show with no demos, then yeah that would be lame. But if they just wanted a press release for right now and wait to show what it can do, then that's understandable.

If they just developed the technology, shouldn't they have some time to create demos and games? Why are gamers such whiny bitches?

Wait, you mean Sony pulls this kind of crap too? Say it ain't so! Remember guys, Sony is a COMPANY that wants your MONEY, not a family member doing you a favor.

I'm sure a few of those guys affected were hackers, but I'm also sure there were honest customers affected who simply replaced their hard drives so they could have more storage on their system. Sony should just do the right thing and reimburse people for any repairs.

PS3 marks the secon...

I think that just like Oblivion, Skyrim will be one of, if not the single best game this generation.

Gamers are the biggest bunch of whiny bitches I've ever seen. And hypocritical too. On this very website, if MS steals an exclusive from Sony, they're thieves, but if Sony steals an MS exclusive, all is fair and right with the world.
