There's talk that ms employees are going to use the infinite power of the cloud to escape press conferences now.

Even less will like the Xbox if they can't fix their yield issues. They're either going to have to reduce their clock speeds or delay the launch. Currently the fix they seem to favour is to downclock the gpu. If they do this then the system will be reduced to 800-900 gflops. Apparently Sony are having no such issues (no eSRAM), therefore the ps4 will likely have twice the power of Xbone (not 50% more).
If you read the thread on NeoGaf, this is coming from a couple of ...
Whilst its true that every company needs to make profits to survive, you can't paint them all with the same brush. Morality is a big factor also. Most companies wouldn't dream of behaving the way Microsoft are, even if they had twice it's resources to hand.
There is such a thing as scruples you know, and any company must draw the line between making money and behaving in a decent manner.l

@Unholy_one
Just who exactly is paying you to say this crap?
Remote lending of games is 'awesome', maybe, but when its limited to once per game it may as well not exist at all.
Having 2 people play the same game without a second copy. 'awesome', indeed it is, I've been doing this for years on my PS3, only difference is that ms won't allow you to play any game on more than one machine at a time, unlike PS3 where I can play against ...
Its only Nintendo and Atari emulators. Nothing from Sega at all. The author says you can have your entire back catalog of games on the system, but I've been gaming since ~1978 and never once owned a ninty!
For my back-catalog I would require emulators for;
Vic 20,
C64,
Sinclair Spectrum,
Commodore Amiga,
BBC micro,
Archimedes,
Acorn,
Amstrad cpc,
Intellivision,
Atari 2600 (listed), ...
No, I'll receive my pre-ordered PS4 and sell it on Ebay if it has the same restrictions as Microsoft's machine. Its painful to say that as I want it really badly, but you have to stick to your principles in matters like these.
I have an admiration for Xbox fans who have rejected the Xbox because of these measures and I don't like to promote double standards.
PLEASE DON'T DO IT SONY, I'M ACHING TO PLAY PS4!
Sorry mate, one of those disagrees was me accidentally hitting the button as I scrolled on my phone. Still, I suppose that makes this world a tiny bit less depressing. Apologies (and bubble up for a well made comment).
That pic is a usb hub next to an external disk drive with a couple of pieces of leatherette fabric hiding the gaps. Not sure if I'd like my PS4 to be made that way!!!
@dcbronco
This isn't about Sony fans and Xbox fans anymore, its about consumer freedom and the right of ownership!
I will fight to the bitter end to protect my personal freedom, I guess some people are just more submissive and readily sold into bondage.
I wonder if they will have a playable build at E3 like Evolution will with DriveClub. Could be interesting to see the differences.
I'm not sure this is legal (in the EU at least). I'm sure there will be lawsuits against Microsoft/publishers.
It is agreed then, it is IMPOSSIBLE for Sony to have THE SAME restrictions as Microsoft. That was the point I made.
I totally understand what you are saying and I agree that there may be DRM restrictions on PS4, but they cannot possibly be as far-reaching as those on the Xbox One. That is all I've ever claimed.
@Blueduke59
Or perhaps Sony has already answered those questions months ago!
IT IS IMPOSSIBLE for Sony to have the same restrictions as M$ for the simple fact that you can play the system without ever having to go online.
Ms has it locked in, every game registered, every game has to check-in.
The very worst scenario possible with Sony's model is that a fee is incurred for a game being played online after you sell it, but then if the person selling it had never been online, again it would be impossible for the machine to know the game was second-han...
The fact is you can rent games from day one, the problem is you can't buy games ever (as that would imply ownership). Basically you can rent games at full market price of a game without having any rights to it unless you have Microsoft's consent.
All this dreamt up in the supposed 'Land of the free'. Aggressive capitalism and perceived freedom are both concepts that Americans hold dear to their hearts (apparently) and yet here they face each other on either si...
Actually you CAN rent games at launch, in fact that's all you can do. You can't buy games (as this would imply ownership), but you can rent them at full retail cost!
The only piracy going on here is from onboard the ' SS Microsoft'. Piracy has declined massively over the last gen. If Microsoft believe you are only the custodian of the games you buy, not the owner, does that mean they give you a refund when you sell their game? Are they just the custodians of that money you spent? Hell no!
Microsoft basically want to sell the same product over and over again ad infinitum.
THIS HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH PIRACY, IT IS ABSOLUTELY...
I don't understand a word you wrote!
I just think they're behind schedule. Sony revealed first because they heard from developers that Microsoft were struggling to get their software up and ready, then 3 months later Microsoft had a reveal with no gameplay footage. No policies seem to be in place and nobody is able to comment on anything to do with the system. I think that Microsoft would like to release their console next year, when its ready, but of course they can't because it will give too much of an advantage to Son...
Breaking news: ms employee surrounded by journalists uses 'infinite power of the cloud' to escape!
http://1.2.3.9/bmi/ohnoa.co...
Seriously though, DRM is just the tip of the iceberg, Xbone is being downclocked and still having yield issues.latest estimates 800-900Gflops making PS4 100% more powerful. That kind of discrepancy will be ...
