You forget about the upscaler. It's probably going from 1440 up to 8K. And given how well they work it'll probably be near imperceptible. I will say 8K is pretty pointless though.
The ultimate edition did yeah, not the base game. So you were paying 20 or 30 extra to access the SM remastered. My point was about it existing though

Honestly don't see the big deal. We have to make an account to do basically anything else. Gamepass, Steam, GOG, Epic, Netflix, Amazon. Who cares? Just make an account and play the game.

Not knocking the game but that was because it was a Chinese game, with Chinese lore and 80% of the sales were from China. Ignoring that market it's probably sold about what Rebirth did, and that isn't even on PC.

Let's face it, it was already a fantastic looking game for its time and it still holds up today. I've modded it on PC and I can see how much better it can look though. Just because it runs 4K/60 on PS5 isn't always a great metric. It'd look better with RT and better textures. Naturally proper Dualsense additions would be great as well.
It was everything I wanted from it to be honest. And part 3 will expand on that with airship travel. Hope Switch 2 is powerful enough for it, because that's where the sales are in Japan. It deserves success with the love that went into it.
Why does a random remaster do that? There's going to be plenty of games that utilise it over the next 4 years. And plenty already released that will benefit from it. If you don't want one fine, but what's with all the nonsense bashing of it

Considering the greatest PC card on the market is struggling to hit 60 (amd thats with an awesome CPU. I'd consider 1440 FSR pretty good from a $400 console with an awful CPU...

Are 4K monitors really that rare nowadays? I've been console gaming on a 4K monitor for about 5 or 6 years now You can pick them up for a couple hundred now. Although I did just change to a 1440 OLED from a 4K so I guess it makes you more right 🤣 and yeah upscaling is fantastic now tbh. All of the benefit and far less taxing.
