VR will last because it has far more potential than just gaming, VR is here to stay, whether that will include PSVR time will tell.
Not trying to Justify anything, just stating facts, there is a perspective to everything and in the great scheme of things the August NPD sales are nothing to shout about, sorry if you find that upsetting.
With new consoles already launched by MS and Sony about to launch new consoles (meaning people are holding off) this is not really a surprise.
And remember this is only America, world sales Sony still dominate every month.
I dont think this will make it to the West.
Milkman I'm not sure what you are arguing, VR is a world away from 3D, and there was certainly nowhere near the excitement for 3D that there is in VR, Fair enough it is till early days and Vr will grow into so much more, but the tech has to start somewhere.
VR is viable now not only from a tech but price point of view, I'm ready for VR and I'm excited by what it will grow into.
I too have a Gear VR and can accept it's a fun novelty, but as you say true VR systems are far more powerful and much more interactive, head tracking and motion controls take Vr to a whole different level.
There is no doubt VR has a lot of room to grow, but the main systems have a lot to offer.
And yes I have PSVR pre-ordered.
VR offers so many opportunities, these are the first baby steps for VR, the tech will improve and the prices will fall, eventually everyone will be part of the VR revolution.
Fries what Vr have you been playing for years? The Vive and Oculus launched this year.
People like you seem to have no idea about whats happening in the real world, the work being done and the opportunities on offer, a gimmick my friend is something that comes and goes, VR is here to stay.
It simply offers the best bang for the buck, with Sony's great first party support if you are in the market for a new console the pro is the way to go.
The Pro has got the xbots all in a fluster, the gap between the systems is now bigger than ever, and there is even less reason to buy an xone this gen, they are just having a hard time accepting it.
As has been said there will be no exclusives for the Pro, what you will get is enhanced graphics, resolution and framerate, this is not a next gen machine, but a much more powerful PS4.
The PS4 Pro does seem to offer a lot more for the money than xone and even the slim, anyone looking to buy a new console the pro is the way to go.
I'm getting VR and I'm getting PS4 pro, not just to enhance VR but PS4 games too, to be honest the Pro is a bargain at the price.
Yes I'll be picking one up, it will offer a nice boost to ps4 games and PSVR which I have pre ordered, Looks like I will be looking into buying a 4k tv too.
There is no doubt the potential the PS4-Pro has to enhance games, but Sony has said it is a PS4 eco system and all PS4 games will run on the standard PS4.
The Pro offers exceptional value for money especially if you Own a 4K TV, and offers a huge boost in performance for developers to exploit and gamers to enjoy.
Downloading it now.
Except scorpio doesn't exist, and by the time it does PS5 will be hot on it's heels.
No need, Horizon will undoubtably be an upgraded version and thats what the Pro offers, developers will decide how they use the extra power the Pro offers.
Lol the PS4-Pro has put the Xbots in a major panic, they know the xone s doesn't compete with the Pro and are desperately clinging to a console that MS announced to try and keep xbox relevant.
Mama is right, the scorpio will compete with PS5, and since Sony now know the scorpio specs it leaves Sony in the box seat.
Undertaker the PSVR isnt limited to anything, the tech might be ( at the moment), but can and will evolve into all sorts of areas if that is what Sony deem they want to do with it.
