For the end of this year, 360 exclusives do look a little better - the way Pachter says it - sales wise. And only because of Halo 3. This is only using confirmed release dates/release brackets.
Apart from MGS, Sony's best sellers FF and GT won't be out this year. GT sells more than Halo, so I guess 2008 will be a role reversal, but yeah.
However PS3 does have something for everyone, this Xmas to be specific.

IIRC, Universal, Fox, Disney, Sony, Paramount, Warner Bros and I think another big studio whose name eludes me make up 90% of the market. Meaning even if HD-DVD had every tiny studio in existence exclusive, they'd still have less than Blu-ray with Sony, Fox and Disney exclusive.
Come on Universal, switch over, stop screwing over customers and let the HD-DVD faithful see that this war is/was over.
Look at DS. It's a beast now and it had a seriously slow start and was ripped apart by PSP when that released until DSL and Nintendogs/others.
It took 12 weeks to reach 50k in Aus, but now it's a huge seller.
I expect price drops and casual diversity such as this holiday's lineup for PS3 to establish a much higher trend, but even then everything can't be taken into account.

I don't see how Wii's sales matter AT ALL to this next gen war. It's firmly ground in last gen, it won't be able to provide any experiences we'll still be getting en masse, it's going for an entirely different audience, it's not gonna take away from PS3 or 360 when they reach more casual prices, the opposite will happen.
PS2's already ripping next gen in half and has never let up, so I think a price cut to $99 if that's still profitable with new Singstar, Eyetoy and Buzz! espec...
Microsoft actually admits faults and realises that people didn't buy their bull about 3-5%. Sony wakes up and realises people won't bite at that outrageous price no matter how good the value may be. See how complaining helps?

Elite made sales go down because it made the Premium and Core look gimped, but this price cut will make PS3 sales go up. Sony learned quickly and pulled the 20GB. More sales = more support = more happy PS3 owners. I got my $600 experience from my PS3, I'm happy that there will be increasingly more people to play with now, as opposed to decreasingly more.

I'm looking at Uncharted, LBP, GTHD, R&C5, Heavenly Sword and Lair and I don't see comparable games on 360. Xbox was easy to program for. PS2 was a bi*ch, PS3 is less of a bi*ch and they've delivered EDGE tools to help devs.

Ace Combat 6 (@Ktchong) was not announced for PS3 exclusively, and is like Ninja Gaiden - since it was an Xbox1 exclusive, not a 360 exclusive.

Microsoft is guilty of many offenses. Sony, and the entire Blu-ray consortium is not. Blu-ray has superior protection which is stated as a key reason Fox and Disney chose it.
BR and HD-DVD had the exact same chance. IN FACT, Fox chose HD-DVD before Blu-ray, look it up. Blu-ray was revealed to have superior protection, and therefore, the choice in HD-DVD's favour was revoked.
