"As much as I dislike have a 4TF next gen console"
Why the console is 1/3rd the power of the Series X and targeting a lower resolution, a lower resolution that takes less processing power. Which is why it only needs to be 4TF to do what they want it too which is 1080/1440P
Series S should run everything the Series X does as the lower frame rate without too much of a sacrifice to visuals.
If you want 4k buy the Series X just b...
GPU is on par with the One X where the massive improvement comes from is the CPU and SSD. Both consoles GPU last gen where bottle necked by the CPU that is no longer the case.
Series S is a much more capable system then either the Pro or One X. Having a CPU not designed for toasters should put this machine on the same tier as a 2060 while both the Series X and PS5 will be 2080 super tier.
Nothing in that video screamed next gen yes it has a ton of added effect but it still looks horrible.
Also whats up with there eyebrows? Both looked horrible.
@crazyCoconuts
PS5 DE is not sony's low end console its the same console minus a disc drive, also sony dropping the PS4 Pro to $299 will not eat at the Xbox Series S sales the series S while it may have a GPU that is just a bit better has an SSD, CPU, and other improvement that put firmly ahead of the any last gen console.
This whole review is garbage its taking a game released in 2012 and faulting it by comparing it too games that came out years later on different hardware. This is why IGN is a joke of gaming site.
This is a horribly written article that tells me nothing and only leaves me more confused. Par for the course from polygon I guess.
Funny here is the video game for the sony made spider-man movie not made by sony and on nearly all platforms.

Sony doesn't own the video game rights Disney does they only have rights to make movies as marvel sold that off when they went bankrupt.
Disney owns the video game rights and Sony the movie rights only and we know this because it has been highly publicized and talked about.
Xbox version has Spider Man in it

Not made by Sony nor are they involved in any way published by Nintendo has Spider Man in it

They only own the movies rights, Disney owns the game rights.
No they couldn't those are very specific and distinct types of entertainment.
Sony doesn't own the videogame rights any Marvel character so why would Microsoft need to own any as well.
Game begun planning in 2015 and likely didn't start development in earnest until 2016 or 17. For current gen so I have a strong feeling what we saw was more indicative of what the One X will be like then the series X. Still a bad decision too show it regardless. Especially since the pandemic may make it harder for devs to get it working on dev kits while working from home so late in the development cycle.
Graphically no next gen game for either system has wowed. Though ...
PC has already surpassed the consoles a few years ago but it isn't widely adopted and supported yet. Many games either don't have the necessary hard drive or the necessary motherboard.
PCIe 4.0 x16 has a theoretical bandwidth of around 32 GB/s and 5.0 will be even faster when it comes out. Both of which is faster then next gen.
Xbox has dedicated audio chip as well it is not handled by the CPU.
They started that on the current gen because devs where told them having to dedicate an entire thread to audio is hurting games and having software handle audio is too taxing.
PS4 has a dedicated audio chip as well.
RDNA 2 TF are 40-60% better then GCN(Xbox One GPU uses this) so 4TF is more or less equal to the One X 6TF.
But TF don't tell the whole story as these consoles have dramatically faster IO and a much improved shaders and asset pipelines. Plus there CPU is finally not such a bottleneck that it held everything back.
If the PS5 and Series X is like having a top of the line CPU with a 2080 then the Series S will be like buying the 2060 instead it won't...
It honestly depends on how well MS tools are and how their Xbox Velocity Architecture works in actual application. If devs can't utilize it as intended then Sony has the upper hand.
It looks like Sony went with a more hardware solution for their SSD, while MS went both hardware and software based.
Regardless I don't think it will be much of hindrance for either system with the only will noticeable difference being initial startup if COD loads in a...
Why both the physical and digital copies of the games will be the exact same size as they will install the exact same game and updates.
The disc is used purely to install a game and license verification and nothing more.
People are against a digital only console with no hard-disc based version as well its about choice.
Some people have data caps or shitty connections or they just like physical media.
People liking this has nothing to do with it being Sony.
This is the recommended PC specs for 4K while consoles can do more with less no way either consoles CPU is within spitting distance of a 9700k. So yes the CPU are leagues better there still not top of the line better which this game is asking for at 4K.
CPU: Intel Core i7-9700K 3.6 GHz, AMD Ryzen 7 3700X 3.6 GHz
GPU: NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2080 Ti or GeForce RTX 3080
Video memory: 10GB
RAM: 16GB (Dual-channel setup)
Hard Disk Space: 45GB ...
