Because there easier to make and overall cheaper to produce while still looking high quality. If this is a 60 dollar game and they make 20 dollars on every copy sold and half a million copies get sold in the first week more they make there money back.
Too all the down voters its still a last gen game built on the framework of previous generations. Until we get a game built from the ground up too take real advantage we won't know how adequate the hard drive space is.
Yes it may be a port but its still got a last generation frame work under the hood and until we start to get games not built for last generation we wont know how big these games actually are.
Still too early to tell this is last gen game with last gen features.
We will need to wait until we start getting current gen exclusives built from the ground up for current hardware before we can say one way or another.

What you just said is not "fact of the matter", a senior director at this point may not be needed and another director may be able to fill in just fine. Without knowing how there team functions and how far along the project is replacing him may be trivial and it may be paramount but we don't have enough knowledge of the situation to try and claim this as "fact".
RE8 has been in development for 3+ years, all 3 games this and the remake where made by different teams and each took years to make. You can say there milking it if you want but there not rushed.

Multiplayer didn't influence the ending it let you add points to your effective military strength outside of single player but was never needed to get any of the endings.
You could get the same endings as everyone else without playing a single game of multiplayer.
