LOL - yet how many posts have been made about how much more expensive the 360 is vs the PS3?
BTW - the PS3 hasn't come close to Wii sales either, and it has the Japanese market whereas the 360 doesn't.
> On top of that, despite being the cheapest console on the market (aside from the PS2) it's still posted it's worst sales quarter in 2 years.
And what about the 2009 PS3 sales vs same period 2008? What do you think the entire PS3 Slim design and price ...
So Sony was as desperate and scared because it just released a brand new PS3 version with a reduced price? You kids are truly funny.
LOL - they weren't... because Microsoft always knew it could reduce prices as well. What's hard to understand?
I guess FF XIV will be gimped too...
Ongoing discussions with Microsoft about how Final Fantasy XIV is to work with Xbox Live are partly to blame for the lack of announced 360 version, producer Hiromichi Tanaka told VG247 at GamesCom today.
“FFXI for 360; at that point PS2 didn’t have a hard disc [and] that was really difficult for us, but Xbox 360 had that from the beginning, so that really helped us. We managed to smoothly move onto 360 from the Windows version, s...
Sony dropped PS2 backwards compatibility because the PS2 was/is still selling well enough, and those PS2 sales helped offset losses from PS3 manufacturing costs. A rather big change in stance from all that backwards compatibility talk Sony had before the PS3 released - remember?
If you were actually informed - you'd know it's not the components/hardware that is the cause of the issues... it's the way it is designed into the case that's the root cause.
If Microsoft did redesign and release a Xbox 360 slim - they'd probably be better off. That way proper heat sinks and what sits on top of what could be addressed.
I hope - with actual games... the developers can alleviate the texture pop-in that can be seen in the tech demo.
There's a big difference between the contrast levels... I don't know how anyone could overlook the obvious.

> We all know HALO is microsofts flagship and one and only system seller, Just because a grossly overated casual fps has sold 10 million that does not all of a sudden mean other games selling 2 million plus are flops. Halos sales are an anomaly un-to itself and you know it. Besides gears theres no other franchise on the 360 that sells anywhere near 10 or even 5 million copies.
What about GTA IV?
CoD 4?
Assassin's Creed?
CoD World at War? ...
The article WASN'T just about exclusives, and it WASN'T just about games already released.
Look how many people that post in here have talked about how great the PS3s 2009 year is when MANY MANY of those games they were excited about WERE NOT even released yet.
Apparently Natal will have its own processor - yes?
Find out if this processor will be able to be utilized at all - for non-Natal games, as an option for those developers needing extra horsepower for their games. Those games could be made for Natal and non-Natal Xbox 360s... yet have the option to utilize the processing in Natal if possible?
Why does every developer --> have to develop for the PS3?
Aren't there some PS3 --> only developers? Do you dislike those developers just because they've chosen to only develop for the PS3?
Valve has the PC and 360 markets to sell to, and they also have their Steam service for digital distribution. If Valve needed more revenue, it could develop for any number of platforms, but has made the choice not to at this time. Just deal with it... it's not such a big dea...

People's brains, while functional - should be used more effectively.
It's ALL --> optional.
You don't like the pricing? Then DON'T purchase anything.
It's not just Microsoft charging for avatar add-ons is it? Who else is doing it too?
It's been stated over and over again by id software that Rage --> will NOT be a sandbox game.
It has a huge open world is all they've stated.
NOTE: Though the world will be large, it is not a sandbox title or traditional "open world" game--players will need to complete the game's story quests in a linear fashion.
NOTE: The shooter gameplay will play out in the tradition of id FPS titles.

> not only that, but he also complained about the ps3 not being powerful enough to reach his dream. At the Games Developer conference, he says that he dreames of making the ultimate stealth game once hardware allows him to do so, coupled with a little bit of software technology that allows him to make a better game.
> In my opinion, after watching Kojima's keynote at GDC 2009, I really have a lot of respect for him. He understands game design and what you need to do.
