The in-game banter by your AI cohorts is just plain - lame!

Alex Kipman: Absolutely. We see there being three types of game. We love the [existing] controller, it's not going anywhere and there will continue to be games that are specifically made to only work with a controller. We'll have games that are specifically designed to work only with Natal - not just arcadey games, but real, hardcore, triple-A titles.

Then you'll have some games that are essentially a hybrid - games that work both with the controller and with Natal. Why is that i...

Natal info:

1) Natal doesn't have to be used alone. It can also work in combination with the Xbox 360 controller.

2) Milo wasn't faked as many here like to repeat.

Which one was that? Do you mean Milo?

http://www.edge-online.com/...

Some accounts on the internet have claimed there were people with controllers around the back of the demonstrations. Have the people that have played over the last day or so purely been interfacing with the machine?

It was certainly an embarrassing moment - notice how the game was quickly paused, and back to the title screen? LOL... however, the game hasn't released yet, and it may not be completely finished.

Most games demoing at E3 --> aren't ready to be released anyhow. E3 is a showcase for --> upcoming game releases and future console features...

Hmmmm... Yet isn't XBL a very important part of the 360 experience, much like the PSN experience --> and like the PSP experience Sony wants you to believe is important to the PS3?

Didn't Sony showcase some --> PSP games at it's E3 press conference?

BOTH companies showed off elements and games that will enhance the total experience their consoles offer up. They can't afford to be as tunnel visioned as you.

From IGN:

Performance Designed Products (PDP) has come to GDC prepared to showcase the latest model of it's new creation, the GameTrak Freedom -- a motion controller for the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3. Planned to be released on Microsoft's console this fall, and the PS3 (potentially) next year, the Freedom acts like current motion controllers on the market but adds a special feature. Through the use of accelerometers, the Freedom establishes the pitch, roll, and yaw of the contro...

Hmmm... how many Final Fantasy games and spin-offs are there?

What about Mario or Zelda games?

And Killzone games? Isn't there a PSP game too? What about the Resistance franchise, there's a PSP game as well - yes?

Nahhhh - Square Enix has to find ways to pay off its £84.3 million investment for Eidos PLC, the holding company for Eidos Interactive.

Also - Square Enix has a 'polymorphic' business strategy. So developing for more than just one platform isn't really their direction. Besides... FFXIV was always a mutliplatform game. The official site lists it for Windows platforms too, before Sony's E3 2009 conference and announcement.

I wouldn't be surprised if it's only a timed exclusive - and will end up for the PC as well.

It looks like clever CGI or pre-rendered footage with an animation-styled character rendered into it. With all that detail in everything surrounding the playable character... it doesn't seem like he's actually touching anything. His body seems to gloss over anything it is supposed to be touching.

He's also stated this:

In an interview with Gamasutra, Crytek CEO Cevat Yerli denied the Sony assertion that it would take developers years to maximize the potential of the PS3, with Hirai stating that "We don't provide the 'easy to program for' console that [developers] want, because 'easy to program for' means that anybody will be able to take ...

Wrong... Square Enix has it listed for the PC as well. On the information page of the official site it also says this:

Platforms - Playstation 3, Windows

Subscription Fees - TBA

Apparently not... it's also stated to be coming to the PC.

Can you "guarantee" that two PS3 motion controllers + the EyeToy is going to be cheaper than the 360 Natal camera though? Hmmm?

The normal retail PS3 isn't bundled with an EyeToy camera as a standard hardware feature is it... and the bow & arrow demo required two motion controllers - yes?

Basically, everything that the PS3 motion sensing technology can do - Microsoft's Natal can do... but Natal also adds full body gesture, as well as face and voice recognition.

If you want an actual "controller" to hold... then there's always the upcoming 3rd party Gametrak Freedom Xbox 360 motion controller. It may also come to the PS3.

Errrr... with the upcoming Wii Motion Plus add-on, 1:1 tracking is also possible - according to Nintendo.

The PS3 will be getting more motion-sensing technology besides the sixaxis. Soon - all three home consoles will have motion-sensing technologies that do the same basic things.
