Well, I agree with the artists part. They do have incredible artists and designers.
I thought Microsoft's Gamescom announcements would be big. But it's just Fable 3. yawn (sorry. Not into RPGs too much)
But Microsoft was always big at Tokyo Game Shows. The stuff to look forward to:
Halo Reach footage and info.
Crackdown 2 footage and info.
Natal games line up.
Gears 3 announcement trailer (come on! We all know this one)
And I'm expecting a load of JRPG exclusives to grab the Japanese gamers.

Games lengths should be determined through the difficulty developers want players to play from. In the case of Bungie, they recommend playing on Heroic - that's about 8 hours? I'll be stretching to to 12 exploring and finding every hidden object in the game.

Not that uncharted is a bad game. But you are not the most reliable source ever.
ODST is a contender. I don't expect it to win, but it's definitely up there.
I've always found Halo to be to most replayable shooter ever. 2nd place: Bad Company multiplayer!
But I figured that's because I ALWAYS play split screen co-op with my buddy. 2 players = 2 times the fun.
I have enormous respect for all developers who put emphasis on co-op.
Neither will MW2's 600p, right?
Although Call of Duty is a sh!tty game.

I know some people who detest Halo 3 who are getting ODST. They like the way ODST is going with the open world and squads.
For me, the thing that sells this game is the storyline. In Halo 2 and 3, it was mostly someone radioing in your objective, and you do it without exactly knowing why you're doing so. In this game, you'll still be given objectives, but it's much clearer why. It's simply more compelling. What is that hot ONI lady trying to do? What is her goal? What is Buck wor...
Man, I just wish people would stop it with the 4 hour expansion thing.

This game (I've seen the math) with have about 10 hours gameplay. You can explore for hidden objects and stuff, add about 2 more hours, go through the campaign in co-op if you want, and FIREFIGHT!!!
But I'm done with Halo competitive multiplayer. I don't find it fascinating anymore, but co-op modes? Bring it on!
Sony won this year, but Microsoft has a chance next year.
My prediction is that they're going to blow out everything they have holiday 2010 with:
Halo Reach
Gears of War 3
Fable 3
Natal plus some cruddy launch titles (but with head tracking! yay!)
They're the best (and i guess only true) exclusives on the platform, and coming out all at once will really give people a reason to buy a 360.
Microsoft needs to add some AMAZING, MIND BLOWING features to justify that $60 dollar price tag (in Canada). But I'll have to keep paying for it because I am a multiplayer gamer.

I hope these graphics were on the 360, and not on a PC version with a 360 controller. It would just feel more impressive.
I actually chose the 360 because most of it's games selection supports co-op (local co-op, to be precise).
Halo, Gears of War are definitely not the greatest games, but they sure are when played with a buddy in the room. Even now, the PS3 doesn't have a great selection of co-op games. Maybe LBP and Resistance... but yeah.
If I didn't have a brother who likes gaming with me, I probably would have chosen a PS3 though.
Kinda lost my respect for Infinity Ward.
There probably will be a Halo Wars 2. Robot (Ensemble) made quite a bit of money off Halo Wars - and it was a great game.
What else is there in the Halo universe to make games out of? I don't want to see a whole bunch of side stories, spinoffs, and prequels.
Just make Reach the perfect Halo game.

6 hours on normal. 9.5 on heroic. at least 10.5 on legendary? And considering that on co-op, Halo's one of the most replayable experiences ever.
