I'm not a racing fan, but I have to say that the community aspect is quite impressive. Lots of good stuff out on the storefront. I'm surprised not to have seen Pen*ses or buttcracks on the cars yet.
Well, that wasn't very informative.
Nevertheless, I have high hopes for this game. I wasn't too into the previous MOHs, but looking at all the effort being put into it... and Bad Company 1 is my favorite online shooter. Love the hell out of the BFBC2 beta.
This, BFBC2, and Halo Reach for 2010!
I'm sure it'll be a good game, but the title is kinda bad. It takes second place next to Spec Ops: THE LINE!!!
Are you PS3 fanboys blind (question mark, because it`s broken on my keyboard)
Reach looks miles better than Halo 3. Now, how it looks in comparison to Killzone 2 or Uncharted 2 is questionable, but that can`t be answered yet. From what I`ve seen, it`s up there with them.
Are you PS3 guys completely delusional?
Halo Reach looks slightly better than Halo 3?
Eh... if anything, it somewhat reaches the level of the Halo 3 CGI ad. It is a massive improvement. Just see the dam trailer.
But I'm holding off any real judgements until gameplay is shown. But from what I've seen, the Spartan character models simply blow everything else out of the water.
If anyone's going to compare the graphics of this cinematic, it should be compared to Halo 3 and ODST's cutscenes.
This cinematic = Halo 3 and ODST cinematics x 9000
Gameplay graphics = Halo 3 and ODST gameplay graphics x 9000
I hope everyone commenting here actually bought (or downloaded) the ODST soundtrack. It is incredibly well composed. Can't say that the whole game is equal to the music's quality... but I enjoyed it a lot nevertheless. That dam Reach beta is preventing me from selling it. Stupid Microsoft...
Heck, I listen to that OST every day!
God, I don't want to have to watch this. Can someone else suffer through the vid and see if this info is legit?
Um... I think you have it the wrong way around jjohan35, or at least, for me. Aim assist in Bad Company 1 was like auto-aim from GTA 4 - your crosshairs were glued to the enemy even from a distance. BC2, on the other hand, is toned down quite a lot. It's not excessive, especially comparing it to the 'smooth' noob controls from Call of Duty.
If only if they'll un-nerf that shotgun...
Well, I like bad movies. I'm the part of the problem, as my money will be going into this movie.
Excellent interview with some deep questions. It's good to know that Bungie is quite aware of their shortcomings with ODST and are not stuck up their arses with it's sales.
Full steam ahead on Reach? Gooood (evil laugh).
The first mission (Sierra 117) was an absolutely brilliant looking level - the reason being was because it was a lot less open than the other missions.
Leading to the conclusion that the scale Halo 3 was going for drew back the graphics. Adopt a new lighting system plz!
2 and a half minutes is not short at all. If anything... it's a lot more than I was expecting. Let the floodgates open!
Nice. I hated the double-pass lighting system used in Halo 3 (and ODST). I don't think Bungie set up their environments to know off their lighting enough, which they should have considering how resource-consuming it is.
I'm trying to imagine Halo 3 with weaker lighting but higher res textures, 720p (AA is not required...), maybe some motion blur, double the amount of detail on-screen...
Oh, Bungie did not make those CG trailers. Heck, they didn't even make their own cutscenes in Halo 3: most were outsourced to another company. They did make their own in ODST though.
It will be IN-ENGINE (actually confirmed by Bungie, dig it up around the internetz). If cinematics are in-engine, they actually are representative of the console's power - as done by every other Halo game to date.
The downside is that cinematics - as they require no AI calculations (background tasks)- tend to have better shadow maps, but that's about it.
It will be actual in-game cinematics - but not gameplay. But who gives a about gameplay, we all know it will be somewhat similar (which is good. I'll buy it). I really want to see the graphics.
*sniffle*
seeing gamers from all platforms having similar opinions... If only if every discussion on N4G was like this...
Well, after being a COD 5 freak for almost a year, I moved on. I look for good stories - thus my interest in SC Conviction and Alan Wake, games I couldn't have cared less about a year ago. (Would've gotten Uncharted 2, and later on Heavy Rain if I had a PS3)
Of course, there are 'those' games that I'm gonna have to get. Bad Company 2 is a must sinc...
This is sounding cool. All I'm worried about is the content navigation. Will the stuff be easy to browse and find? Hopefully Microsoft keeps it clean.
I'd be impressed if that ran on consoles. But I can guarantee you that the trailer is from a maxed out PC version with some fancy post-processing... Dam, I wish multiplat devs showed more of the console versions.
