I been getting the remaster editions for free just for owning the OG version. That is one of the best features of PC gaming.

The PC can be played on a couch hooked to a tv set with your gamepad of choice. Is now possible on pc to play splitscreen offline. Hate to say it but 99% of all third party games play best with a gamepad even remake DOOM😱. The experience on PC and Xbox/Playstation is the same. Nintendo offers a unique experience. That's a fact
As a PC gamer, I agree with the article. Before everyone says but the 3070 is $500-$700 just on graphics card; that card is overkill. For those that are like me owning a gaming PC back in 2009.really there's no point to own a PS5 much less the Xbox One Series (all of the series games are on PC). I can play all games since 2009 plus got the remaster edition for free (Bioshock, Trine, Ori franchises). If Demon Souls comes to PC, I will get it for free☺️

Remember that Xbox Games come to PC. That's how Microsoft convince Bethesda that it's games be on PC and Xbox 😃. As a PC gamer this is great but as a gamer in general this is bad for now there's less competition which will lead to stagnation
Unless the author is implying that Xbox Games Pass comes to PlayStation. After this generation, Microsoft will only offer Game Pass

Lack of exclusive next generation console games (Spider-Man Morales will be on PS4 for $50.00 and $70 on PS5), higher game prices and only Xbox One Series X will offer native backwards compability. Paying to play online still here.
That's thanks to PS4 Pro and XBOX One X. The OG consoles were so underpowered that forced Sony and Microsoft to upgrade consoles within two years.

Microsoft is not defining the future but what they are doing is what Netflix started and succeeded. When it comes to TV shows and movies 80-90% stream it. E-books are all the rate right now. Microsoft realized it was foolish to continue with console hardware for it will never catch up nor on par with PC hardware. Second, smart TVs hardware is as good as a console. The idea of a service on every hardware device is very appealing to Microsoft.....
Which is forward thinking for it allows Microsoft to save hardware costs along with shipping costs😃 It gets triple the audience. In the end PC may end up as the only hardware device😁

Agreed but if game developers end up choosing NVIDIA latest GPUs as a base for next generation gaming over AMD that will bring back gaming being made with PC gaming in mind. I strongly believe NVIDIA new GPU was to keep PC gamers stay on PC but more importantly sway game developers to utilize NVIDIA new GPU over AMD.
Most games are not going to take advantage of NVIDIA latest technology. That's a problem for PC games are held back by consoles for games are designed with consoles in mind. Unless NVIDIA new graphics card entice game developers to utilize NVIDIA latest technology.
If you own the original game of say bioschock you get the remaster edition for free. Only on PC, but again you must own the original game. I own Demon Souls, hence, I get the remaster edition for free.
