Stranger things is really one of the worst examples you could give. That series falls back on having two main characters and the rest of the world and people centering around them. Take those two away and the rest of the characters fall flat on having no reason to be there and no back story. The only character I agree with that you mention was Penello. Vaan had visions of his brother which caused him to tag along. I really never understood the hate for Vaan, imo...
It's a clash of cultures. Japanese people enjoy the stories of normal people who don't matter growing a pair and standing up against the world. And I promise you you will see far more of those.

That's the fact I liked most about the game. Instead of having one main character and the rest of the world centering around him, you had one group of characters of which no one seemed to be the main character. I felt like it made the party much more believable and easy to connect with, all of their personalities and motives felt real. I really don't like games where you have one well made main character and the rest are just fan service.
Persona games are imo more mature than most WRPGs.
It seems you don't know Final Fantasy VII as good as you believe you do then. Replaying FF VII right now and just went through the Shinra HQ part where Cloud sneaks from cover to cover.
I'm pretty sure that throughout my life I've met people in real life who are very similar to each of these stereotypes (except the last game, which doesn't even attempt to be taken seriously). I don't see where the problem is, especially with Letitia from Human Revolution. There are "intellectually challenged" black people just as there are whites. Not every depiction of such needs to be white just to not offend.

I think it is expected from a review site to have a standardized scale for those who work for it. Without any standard the whole point of a review site becomes futile.
Duh, yeah I totally believed people were sent on an arc to Andromeda. I believe there are plenty other games that carter to your 'needs' then. I for myself am not actively delusional, I don't play video games to escape reality. Realism in games makes it actually more immersive. So please follow the advice you 'anti-liberals' or whatever you call yourselves often use as an argument and don't attempt to censor the developer, cause that is what most of the people in this comment section want to do as far as I can see.
In articles like these it's funny to see people complaining about feminists and demanding sexy beautiful female characters (by doing so kinda confirming a stereotype commonly attached to gamers), but they don't realize that them and their opinion is just as ridiculous as the feminists', just on the opposite side of the spectrum.
