Planetside 2 is free to play
cool idea, i always wanted a game where 2 massive armies charge each other. but unfortunately, planetside 2 is right around the corner. Also they say the current record holder is mag with 256? Planetside 1?
i disagree with this writer. iron sights on half-life? not to be blunt but FUCK YOU. I'm so sick of CoD's lingering shadow over modern shooters. Continue story, improve graphics (obviously), no co-op, and another revolutionary gun like the gravity gun or portal gun.

i dont know wtf your talking about. i've been in this beta for a month and havent had one server crash. they update the game almost weekly. they have made significant improvements based on player feedback and it'll only get better.
yeah i bought the vip starter pack. its awesome. the gameplay is so smooth, theres so many mechanics to master, and i love no auto-aim. even the fully automatic weapons have physics and travel time.
best shooter all year unless something else comes out and proves me wrong. halo 4 has a good chance if it ditches every single gameplay addition that was added with reach.

GOW3 is awesome but it was the same as the previous two games. It hasn't spawned any great copycats, because it wasnt really unique to begin with. Its simply the best hack n' slash, nothing more. Heavy Rain was unique and fun but i don't see any real industry changing things coming from it. Uncharted was influenced by gears of war, and i agree that it will be the main reason dev's step it up on cinematics and storytelling integratio...
of course you can compare RPG's. Its using some of the best rpg's as standards in which to talk about a new one. I enjoyed skyrim, but just because its played in first person doesnt mean it gets a pass on its mediocre combat. If you ask me, its a downgrade from oblivion. it is clunky and archaic. everything else in the game felt refreshing, the combat doesnt only need refined, it needs reworked. so an rpg like amalur that is open world, deep in story, progression, AND combat, sou...

this needed to happen to them. Shamelessly ripping off a game and directly going after it in your commercials "this isnt azeroth anymore" TOR is successful for adding something new to the table, WOW is successful for mastering the current MMO formula, Rift...well thats just a mediocre knock off that wasn't going to impress very long.
i LOVED unreal championship but unfortunately it didnt take off. i think they made a mistake by not releasing it on pc honestly. but something like that or a brand new direction. i love UT3 and all of them i just think that most people don't like basic arena style anymore

To me the Wii-U controller design looks to be the one thing that will get me interested in consoles again. Coupled with Nintendo being one of the only dev's making unique, non typical TPS, FPS games, it seems like a win.
considering skyrim has graphics from last gen, in some cases worse, this isn't impressive. Write an article once The Witcher 2 is running on a tablet.
i played for ps3 and i would buy it again for my pc because it would be a superior version of a game i love. No framerate issues, better AA, higher native resolution, just to name a few. The framerate being 60fps alone would make this the best version, being an advantage to the gameplay. And if they allowed it, the possibilities for modding would be amazing.
