He's right - it's very poorly designed. The minute I got the update for the current version - many months ago - I was like "what are they thinking?". It's not really surprising though as interface design has never been Microsoft's strong suit.
Am I going to care about DLC after spending 100+ hours or so playing Fallout 3? Probably not.
"Wired.com: Rhythm Heaven is your under-the-radar, Professor Layton-style announcement for this E3. Speaking of which, we need more Professor Layton.
Dunaway: Yeah, I agree. I played all of Professor Layton, it's a fantastic game."
That doesn't count you lamers.
EDIT: Oh, and that's what she said. haha!
If it plays as good as it looks it's going to be amazing. I think Sony understand what's riding on this one and they aren't messing around.
My point was more that by the time the PS3 is well down in price - sure the Wii will probably still cost less, but will it be able to match the PS3's library of games (does it even do that now?), will it start playing HD movies?
I think that as the PS3 will continue to become more and more attractive to consumers over the next several years - but will the Wii? Or is it more of a fad?
I think it's too soon to call this one, but if the Wii does "win" it will be a sad day. The reason I think that it might not shake out that way is that I don't see the Wii as having the longevity of say the PS3. At some point the PS3 will be $249 or $199 and it will fly off the shelves the way the PS2 did - the way the Wii is right now. If Sony can continue to grow PS3 sales numbers for the next 6 years or so it's not crazy to think that they will cruise past 100 million units sold....
Right - if there was anything that really held the Xbox back it was the limited quantity of top-tier titles. The reason Playstations have done so well, and for so long is that there are tons of great games. I still haven't played every PS2 game I want to!
"Sony just didn't have great games." hahahahahahah - this article is silly. No great games on the PS1 or PS2 . . . riiiiight :)
I hope not - considering that "00:05:24:00" means 5 minutes 24 seconds :)
OK - Microsofts gaming division is so teeny-tiny compared to their bread and butter windows/office/exchange etc. - that there's no way their share price is going to change 6% just based on that division. That's ridonculous.
I think you're right. Nintendo and Microsoft has started off strong and done pretty well. Sony has been doing OK, but it's like they are only just getting rolling. At this point the PS3 does seem to have the most future potential.
I don't know what happened to your bubbles, but that was a totally rational, reasonable comment - so I'll try to give you one back. :)
I think the JRPGs are coming - I just think they tend to take a really long time to develop, particularly on new hardware. I know it's a long wait, but I would expect to see a flood of good ones on PS3 over the next few years.
And yes, Level 5 is doing some impressive work.
Hellz yeah - I want to see something from Team Ico!
Cool. Gives me a reason to play though it again.
Microsoft? The poll at the bottom begs to differ :)
I didn't find any of them all that exciting, but the Sony one had the most stuff that interested me - namely games. Oh and Nintendo's was excruciatingly horrible, but what else is new?
Actually I think Al Gore is single-handedly resurrecting global warming - which is something considering that we're in a period of global cooling. I guess a lot of folks forgot about the media freaking out about global warming over a decade ago and then stopping when it kept getting cooler year over year.
Dear Nintendo Lady,
That's super lame.
Thanks,
Adam
It's not a 1st party game - it's a 3rd party game being published 1st party. Some might call it 2nd party ;)
Actions speak louder than words Nintendo. You can't continue to totally ignore core gamers while telling us how much you care about us, how important we are.
Did anybody else see Gamehead where Geoff Keighley asked Reggie what they had for the core gamers and his answer was "Animal Crossing"? Give me a break Reggie, seriously.
