Still thumping the GTAIV DLC drum eh? Someone should really tell them that we don't care - there are way, way too many games coming out this Fall to be interested in getting a few more hours out of GTA IV.

To go in another direction: I think Ted Price is probably the most impressive studio head out there. Insomniac kicks out quality games every single year while winning best small business awards - that's something else.
They aren't even talking about the CPU - they're talking about the overall chipset. They are currently using slightly modified versions of off the shelf Intel boards - the rumor is that they will go back to custom chipsets like they used to use, most likely to lower power consumption.
The thing that I find really annoying is that Valve blames the PS3 and not their lack of resources as why they don't develop for it. If you don't think it's good business to develop for a platform that's fine, but don't tell us it's because the platform is no good when that is obviously not the case.
Do you have a quote from Ken or Kaz or Phil or anyone promising a white PS3 at launch?

If gamers really want Microsoft to get the message that we don't want to pay to play online on the 360 then we have to stop paying for it. You can complain as loud as you want and sign all the petitions you want, but all they care about is the money.

No games? Honestly between CoD4, MGO. Warhawk, and GTA4 I don't have enough time to play everything online that I'd like to. There are plenty of games.
The cost to play online on the 360 means that I buy mult-plat games that have online play for my PS3 - period. If Microsoft is OK with that then they should keep charging. Yes, Live doesn't cost very much - but if a restaurant started charging you 50 cents for tap water you know you'd think "WTF?". It's the principle of the thing - nothing that Live does isn't done just as well for free somewhere else - and that's my problem with it, that's why I won't pay for it anymore.
I agree. I was going to say that this just goes to show that countless polygons and high res textures do not make something photoreal. It's like they spent all their time on Textures and polys and 10 minutes on lighting - which is absolutely more important.

It would be really odd if EA published it for 360/PC only. It's EA - you know they'd put it out on the DS if they could.

It's not, strictly speaking, impossible to have PS2 backwards compatibility without the PS2 hardware - it's just a lot more difficult as it must all be done with emulation. The 360 does all of the "compatible" Xbox games with emulation, and it's less than ideal. Each game has to be patched in to work properly, and in the case of the 360, even then it's buggy. Halo 2 has significant visual problems (shadows freezing in place) - if they can't even get that right it must be a royal pai...

It's gotta be really hard doing high-profile marketing for Microsoft - or any company with marketing practices as deplorable as Microsoft's for that matter. By this I mean: in general Microsoft's marketing attitude is "We're the best, and if you disagree you are stupid" - it's a very defensive stance, and it's because they know that on most fronts they aren't the best, just the biggest.
