I have both and I must say, don't compare these two. Just because they come in at the same price point doesn't mean they are in any way, shape or form comparable. Personally, for the money these cost, the PS3 is a much better deal, with many more features and will outlast the Iphone you buy now. In a few months, the Iphone will have a newer model and the ones now will be obsolete. Also, the Balckberry Pearl and Samsung Blackjack are not too different from this phone in terms of function, and ...

You came out of your cave to make this comment? Seriously? Wow, I knew something was wrong with you. You just gave us the proof we needed. Your comment IS off topic. This thread has nothing to do with Bioshock. Stop making x360 fans look stupid, becuase a vast majority most of them comment intelligently regardless of the system. You just keep making yourself look foolish. Once you reach your 15th birthday, maybe maturity will set in.

They are going to be in some serious trouble. False advertisement. However, I called and ordered on, and sure enough they said, it's one it's way. If they lied . . . oh boy!

This means they are actually going to include it in the sixaxis. Sony has a reputation of strongly deniying things that are going to show up. It's probably next year. They don't what people to stop buying the stocked controllers during the holiday season. Kinda smart move by Sony. So expect it next year.

But wouldn't they want to say these words to please MS. They are exclusive right. I don't know much about how much more they could have fit on DVD, but, really, what else were they supposed to say? Just a thought.

Dude, I love my PS3, but you're comments are not good. PC's are more flexible with upgrades and have many price points from cheaper to super expensive. It's not that the PS3 might not be better, but how can you knock PC when they have about a billion configurations for everyone. And I hate to say this but in 7-10 years from now, you won't be able to upgrade the PS3's graphix capacity, but you will be able to throw the baddest graphix card in a PC. Common, stop bashing everything that is not P...

Very true. But the hardware cycle for computers is a LOT shorter than game consoles. We see new game consoles every 5-8 years. New computer components come out monthly. Competition the the computer hardware sector is a lot more cut throat. i.e. ATI v Nvida, AMD v Intel, Maxtor v Western Digital v Seagate, MS v the rest of the world. Linksys v Belkin v D-Link, etc. In the gaming console world we only have Sony v MS v Nintendo.

Nice avatar. I agree with you. My concern is how much would this thing be? They would also need to increase the size of the Wii for a new processor and a new graphix card. They will not be able to pull it off by just adding a new drive. I see that Nintendo wants a peice of the HD pie, and with their rising popularity, would probably take a chunk, but I think it is going to screw them up for having two sku's that are not even remotely similar. This is not an XBox type of situation (like a hard...

Blu Ray can't fail. The answer is that as long as the PS3 uses it, (and Sony Pictures backs it - the largest movie studio) Blu Ray will always be a contender (if not winner). No other format of hardware forces you to include a next gen player other than Sony. So as long as the PS3 sells units, which they have sold 4 million, then there are at least that many BR players in the market. They are projecting to sell at least 80-100 million PS3’s in 10 years. The PS3 doesn't only promote the player...

Coke and Pepsi? They are still at each others throats. That saga will never end.

Didn't Sony release all the Spiderman movies. Doesn't make sense.

has nothing to do with break even. If anything, a price cut hurts the bottom line (break even point). Break even is dollars not quantity. To break even, you are manufacturing/shipping/selling /marketing the product equal to the current sale price. Read the article, it's talking about reducing manufacturing costs. This is actually great news for sony if they can make it happen. They will shave off $200 from the cost of making and selling the PS3. That's a 25% growth on efficiency of manufactur...

what break even is. This is actually great for Sony. You are breaking even on a console that you were supposed to be losing $200 on. I'd say that is exceptional work to cut costs by that much percentage wise it's huge. If it is made and shipped for $800 (600 + 200), then a $200 decrease would be 25%. From an economic standpoint that is amazing for Sony. And I don't think the playstation is competing with X360. I think they are competing against themselves at the moment.

IT's all propoganda. If 100M pounds ($200M US dollars) is a huge concern for Sony, they should pack there bags and leave. The point is that Sony is not even phased by this. $200 Million is nothing for these companies. That is why MS can get up and say we are spending a Billion on warranty issues and everyone smiles ans says "Great". They're stock is not hurt so the company IS doing ok. This is just word art that is made to have people argue about it.

That's not a loss buddy. That's cost of doing business. It's called an investment. You invest 2 billion to hopefully make 5-6 billion in a 10 year span. I'd say it's common business practice. Like buying a home for $800k to hopefully sell it for a $1M in the years to come. Also, don't forget, a lot of that money goes into manufacturing cost and equiptment purchases. So it's not a loss. So actually the higher that initial investment is, the more the company is invested in its product.

Most people talk about the fact that Sony lost about 2 billion in making a selling the PS3. Most people also don't remember that the PS2 was also a huge investment for Sony, which cost them hundred of millions. Look how much money that made them. The difference is, billions today is a few hundred million yesterday. And although MS is said to be making roughly $100 per console, the cost of xbox and x360 have them in the same situation as Sony. Sony still makes millions off the PS2 and it's gam...

And neither is DVD or CD. Ask Nintendo. But why not? Why not include an upgrade to the technology and send a message to game developers that they do not have any space restrictions? This is value added. And with HDtv coming on strong, most people will expect to see some great games with many extras. That takes up a lot of space. Second, they are not movie formats! They are types of storage mediums. The only reason the movie industry has adopted these storage mediums is because HD content cann...
