Yest BD sales of 300 were double HD DVD. Interactivity FTW!
"for the price of 1 blu-ray player one can get 4 HD DVD players"
What part of temporary sale do you not understand? Quit trying to spin it like a price break.
It's not a price drop. It's a "sale", temporary at that. And if Sony went from a $499 price point to $99 overnight, you'd say it was desperate. Why not just accept it for what it is, a last ditch effort.
Sorry HD DVD. No Soup for you!
Didn't this site post how they dropped BD? You guys really need to research more.
And yet, there will be more BD playing PS3s than HD DVD players.
Blame the sh1tty games
You sure you watched The Boondocks?
@ Kigmal
I see what you're saying, but that doesn't make it racist. Social commentary isn't meant to make you feel warm and fuzzy on the inside.
Great show. Great game idea, regardless of what console it is on.
It is selling a hell of a lot more than HD DVD. 9:1 in JPN and 4:1 in EU. NA is not the only market.
EDIT: None taken. I still enjoyed proving you wrong. And will continue to do so. Your false neutrality is as laughable as your avatar. Sorry :(
Pull the plug MS. Concentrate on EU and NA. They could release a school girl panty vending machine party game and give 360's away...still wouldn't help.
EDIT: I find it hard to believe Capcom would not have created, nor published those titles had the 360 not existed. Timing and revenue opportunity played the biggest role. Mistwalker, I'll give you. But what other Japanese tpd that didn't support Xbox 1 is now supporting 360? I just named one of them, but where are the others? T...
In comparison to HD DVD? More :)
Why is it sold out? Each store has 5 of them.
"Your should sue your school district."
So should you.
No analog 5.1 or 7.1 support
Slow boot process

Built-in Dolby True-HD 5.1 through HDMI ONLY
No DTS-HD decoding
No 1080p
I'd rather put that $98 towards Blu Ray
Point being Will, BD movies sell. More than HD DVD. Studios don't care what or why they sell. Just as long as they sell. But tell yourself whatever you need to.
NA DOES NOT determine the this format "war". For Christ's sake, 9:1 in Japan, 4:1 in EU and 2:1 here. Nuff said.

What a deal! "The Look and Sound of Perfect"...MY ASS!
EDIT:
Snoop this player was $500 at one time. You should expect a lot from it.
All PS3 were reduced in price. Gimped, low-end last gen HD DVD were temporarily reduced in price, while (comparable to BD players) HD DVD players still sit @ $3-499.
Really, don't they?
Look, let's get few things straight since so many think they know. The PS3's OS or XMB has a 52MB footprint. The 360's OS has a 32MB footprint. If you are going to post data, know wtf you are talking about. And 512MB ram is 512MB ram. Programmers are still adjusting to the architecture of the PS3, so in many cases, limit themselves by attempting to apply PC/360 methodologies to it. The PS3 has already demonstrated it can graphically do things in a game the 360 will never be able to attain. An...
