SCEE are getting absolutely ripped apart. And so they should, Europe is getting shafted no matter which way they would like to spin it. It's not enough that we get mistreated by Nintendo time and time again (I only found out last week that we have to wait 'til February to get Kirby's Epic Yarn >:O), now Sony are getting in on the act as well. I have a lot of respect for Sony, but if this "Collector's Edition" goes ahead then I'm ain't touching it.

I've got platinums for every game I've played on my PS3 that has trophy support (although that's not saying much, it only adds up to 9 games, 10 if you count Flower). This will be the game to finally break that perfect run I bet.

Yeah, what vhero said. The hyperbole rolls in, the embargo lifts and "critics" stumble over themselves to lavish the game with superlatives thick and fast.
And then...months, even weeks later, features will clog up the internet, detailing the various plot-holes, glitches and inconsistencies that the thing is laden with. It's the same story every damn time and I'm not buying into it this year.
At least it would be different.

As Infernostew has already stated, it's all about context and there's nothing wrong with using 'Jap' as shorthand for Japanese. Plus, chances are mushroomwig, I have far more love for Japan and its culture than you do. I own well over a hundred Japanese films (I wrote my University dissertation on the films of Takeshi Kitano for crying out loud), listen to countless amounts of Japanese bands/artists and, like many folks around here, enjoy the occasional Japanese video game. ...

but they don't compare to Shenmue. They aren't nearly as ambitious, immersive, atmospheric or gripping as the Shenmue expierience. I mean, everything about Shenmue was epic. It had a sense of scale that I don't think any other game has been able to achieve and for a last-gen game that's pretty commendable.
