PS4 for me solely because the PS platform is the one I grew up on after my SNES days, so I figure I'll just stick to what I'm already comfortable with.

Even with all the uproar over the X-One and Microsoft's reversal of DRM policies, eventually I think most of people who owned both the 360 and PS3 will eventually get both PS4 and X-One as well.

As far as Software is concerned I think Microsoft has a stronger launch lineup/launch window with games...

Yup. That infamous FFXIII Xbox 360 announcement definitely rocked N4G too. Of the 5 years I've been on N4G, that news story had the most comments of any article I've ever seen on here (Over 1000 comments, lol) Definitely a moment I'll never forget:

Alright thanks, I'll keep that in mind. I beat GOW3 on Hard Difficulty, but to me it felt a little easier than both GOW1 or 2 on Hard, so I might go ahead and give Ascension a go on Hard initially.

Bought a few weeks ago at this price when Amazon had it during a Gold Box Event. Haven't started playing it yet though, got to wait until I finish another game until I get to GOW:A.

There's been so many varying opinions on the game from reviewers, so I'm looking forward to judging it myself.

"In our eyes, the question isn’t whether Ratchet & Clank will translate well to the big screen – it’s why has it not happened sooner."

I couldn't agree more. Year after year CG family friendly movies rake in so much money at the Box Office, it's just amazing. IF it's successful, there's no telling what it could do for the R&C franchise and it's brand awareness.

I hope it's a success and Insomniac develops a 'prop...

I would say it has a lot to do with the sheer amount of checkpoints in games nowadays. There are some games that are challenging if you ramp up the difficulty, but even with the added challenge of increased difficulty, all the checkpoints in these games makes the game easier. And if you die while playing a level, you usually don't have to go far before you get back to where you previously died-- especially in Open World games because the game Autosaves after you do virtually anything, lik...

Considering the fact that the new Fox Engine was built as a multiplatform engine, I pretty much expected this. The MGS HD Collection landed on Xbox 360, Ground Zeroes/The Phantom Pain are multiplat projects, etc... The writing was already on the wall for quite some time.

I would also add Cheat Codes to this list. They were always fun to experiment with back in the day, but were pretty much non-existent this gen with the exception of PC mods.

Wow. This has console gen. sure has been a tough one for devs. Just so many notable studios that have either been shut down or are in financial woes. I mean, it wasn't that long ago when THQ was dissolved, and now LucasArts?! When I continue to see stuff like this, at times it makes me wonder about the future of the video game industry as the costs to develop games will surely continue to go up. Hopefully all the people laid off will find work elsewhere.

I'd rather prefer the team at ND working on this game to get to work on a new project (which could be a sequel to Last of Us) than to spend time porting Last of Us to the PS4, and who knows how long it'll actually take to port it.

Maybe if Sony could source the same company that did the HD collections on PS3 to port the game to the PS4, then I'd definitely be fine with it. But if it's a case where Naughty Dog has to do the porting, I say No and move on to star...

I believe that GT6 will be released on the PS4, it would be ludicrous on Sony's part to only release GT6 on the PS3 and not also release it on the PS4. Sony being able to get out GT3 early in the PS2's lifecycle was huge for the platform, and I'm pretty sure Sony knows how huge it can be for the PS4 is GT6 out early in the PS4's lifecycle as well.

Also, I'm not much a believer in some reports that GT6 is going to come out this year since it hasn't eve...

"1) when a system breaks 100 mil, its more than just casuals who buy it"

Yes, I agree if a system breaks more than 100 mil it's more than just casual gamers buying the system -- However, in the Wii's case I think the majority of those sales were casual gamers and IMO the WiiU needs a large number of that audience back for the system to have any kind of 'major' turnaround.

I know it's still early in the WiiU's lifecycle and there's time for a turnaround, but if the casual crowd doesn't start flocking to the WiiU in bigger droves (because the casuals is what made the Wii a success) I'll start to have some major doubts about the WiiU's future.

Without that 'casual craze', it's going to be tough sledding for the WiiU because most traditional core gamers have their eyes set on Microsoft and Sony's new console...

Backwards compatibility for me is usually really nice to have early on in the console's lifecycle for the first year or two, but admittedly after that I rarely take much use of backwards compatibility.

When the PS4 comes out, I know I'll still be buying some PS3 games b/c there were a number of them I just never got around to buying-- and by the time the PS4 does come out, many of those games are going to be cheap.

Would've been nice to be able to ...

I just wonder how much these newer controllers with a touchscreen is going to cost-- hopefully no more than $10 or $20 bucks more than the DualShock 3.

Just hoping IGN's source is correct and it's just an early Prototype. I hope the final D-Pad design ends up being more akin to the previous Dualshock's because the Prototype design looks like the 3rd party controllers were it's one big button.

Analog sticks look o.k...definitely will take some ...

If Bungies next game ends up being Xbox 360 and/or Xbox 720 exclusive, I imagine Microsoft will advertise it like Halo or Gears and it'll end up being a huge launch-window game for the Next Xbox. Would not surprise me one bit if it was timed exclusive.

I do agree with the points made in the article though, if the game starts out as an Xbox exclusive, it'll probably end up damaging it's potential on Playstation. Even if the game starts out multiplat. day-and-date o...

I completely understand all that, I'm just saying it wouldn't have an impact on me and that I'd still buy a console if it blocked used games.

I don't agree with the notion that used games should be blocked and I hope used games aren't blocked because I realize not everyone can afford to buy new and the option to buy used should always be available for physical media.

4788d ago 1 agree1 disagreeView comment

I don't buy used games, so it wouldn't really have an impact on me. Of all my time gaming, I've only bought one game used, and it was ICO -- and I only bought it used because I couldn't find a new copy in a game store just several months after it first came out.

Unless it's something pretty expensive that most people have to borrow money to buy like a car or house, I prefer to buy virtually everything else brand new.

"Explain why the Wii U is worst system for an MMO please"

Because the Xbox/Playstation platforms are much more established online-centric consoles than the Wii/WiiU.

I think DQ 10 would've done much better on Wii if it had been a standard JRPG instead of an MMO.

For me it would be having console games look somewhere close or identical to Battlefield 3 for PC on high settings. I'm hoping those kinds of graphics are capable on Next-Gen console games with big/open spaces and not just limited to really linear stuff.

In addition to better graphics, even better A.I. and more things going on screen in real-time simultaneously is a MUST.

I don't know if this will actually happen on the 8th Gen. consoles and I'm n...
