I think FFXIII will do maybe 3-4 Million in Japan, and maybe another 2-3 million across BOTH the PS3 and 360 in the U.S. AND Europe. I know FF is a big JRPG franchise and all, but considering the sales of JRPG's on both the PS3 and 360 this gen., I'm not totally convinced that FF is going to be that big of a hit in the West like it was in previous gens.
And oh yeah... there's NO way FFXIII is selling more on the 360... heck, even Tekken 6 on the PS3 is selling more than than the ...
It surprises me that people actually believed that other story "Confirming" God of War 3 was gonna have some sort of Online/Co-op... I never believed it for a second.
Having Online in God of War 3 just wouldn't realistically work in conjunction with the Story because it's not like Kratos has an alley with him in the Story Mode helping him in battle... God of War is ALL about Kratos and the Single Player experience and I'm glad it's staying that way.
Kratos...
If it's "Exclusive DLC" I wouldn't be surprised.... and if it is it'll only be a matter of time before it hits the PS3, just like nearly everything else. The Fallout 3 DLC was "supposedly" Exclusive to M$ platforms, but look what happened months later. Star Ocean 4 was "supposedly" Exclusive but now it's headed to the PS3, Tales of Vesperia, etc...
If Microsoft was going to secure FULL Exclusivity for DLC for a game that would actually benefit them, ...
Nearly 49K for the PS3?! Wow... pretty good week for the PS3 in Japan, that was a little unexpected for me... seems like more and more are slowly gearing up for FFXIII. I Definently can't wait to see how many PS3's FFXIII will push in Japan this December when it launches.
"a ton of games surpass halo in terms of game quality but the gaming community has spoken. when a game like halo odst can sell 2 million copies in 24 hours when a games like killzone 2 takes like 5 months to sell 2 million that's crazy right there"
HipHopGamer,
HALO is like Microsoft's equivalent of Nintendo's Mario. Microsoft built the Xbox brand around Halo, OF COURSE it's going to sell millions in a day. The thing about Sony is that they've never built t...
Well first of all, I think it's pretty safe to say that NOBODY (including Sony) ever thought that Call of Duty 4 would have turned out to be such an immense success, because before Call of Duty 4, the COD franchise was pretty well known, but it definitely wasn't as much of a Mainstream name that Call of Duty is now, so it's no surprise Sony didn't take a chance on it.
I think Sony made the right decsion to invest in their 1st and 2nd party this gen., because when you look at all ...
"well if they can innovate in modern warfare 3, then why not."
To be honest, I don't think there's that much more innovation to be had in Modern Day Military shooters this gen. At the moment, I think there's a greater possibility for innovation in a Futuristic Call of Duty game that's set like 10 or 20 Years into the Future.
My idea for the next COD game would be: Call of Duty: World War 3 :)
Sure, there's no such thing as WW3, but Infinity War...
To be honest, I've never really thought about a game being "Too Short"... there's a lot of games I've played that have been relatively short, like ICO or Heavenly Sword and I didn't even realize how short they really were until after I had completed the game and went to look at my Game Save data for my total play time.
When I play a game, I'm not the type of person that plays through a game in one sitting for hours upon hours, and that's probably why so many games that ...
By the way Kojima is talking, I really do believe the MGS4 team's next game after Peace Walker will be Z.O.E. 3.... it wouldn't surprise me if it was Multiplat., but I personally hope it's exclusive to PS3 (for obvious reasons).
Definitely looking forward to Kojima's next Original title too.
Very nice to see that PS3 sales are consistently hovering around 30K+ a week for this long... only a little over a month before the FFXIII PS3 Explosion Begins! :)
N4G user Drummerx2709 PM'ed me about the GOW3 demo code first, so I've already given it to him. :)
I pre-ordered the Ultimate Edition last Friday. Amazon sent me the code for the God of War 3 demo Yesterday, but I'll probably just give the code away since I'll be able to get the demo through the District 9 Blu-ray that I had already planned on purchasing WAYYY before it was announced to come with the GOW3 demo.
I might have to wait over a month and a half to get the GOW3 demo through the District 9 BD, but I'm in no hurry to play the demo b/c playing through the GOW games again v...
"GT has been going down hill since GT1. such a shame really."
LOLOL!! Going downhill since GT1? Does 50 Million sold in the GT series sound like "going downhill"? I don't think so. If GT was going downhill there's NO WAY the Million and Millions of people would continue to buy it (including myself).
It's pretty interesting how several people have already said they're 21 years old in this thread, because so am I.
I still love video games, but over the past few years I've noticed I hardly ever get the same rush/excitement that I used to get when I was a younger gamer and very few games really "engross" me, and if I ever do get that feeling, it's usually only 1 or 2 times a year with certain specific games.
I imagine the more Mature themes, and more Reali...
I don't know what I want more from ND, a Jak PS3 game or another Uncharted... whatever they do next I'll be buying regardless. Jak was one of my favorite platformers last gen., and I'd love nothing more than for ND to put the franchise to rest for good with a PS3 iteration.
The Last couple of Jak games ND made were rated "T" and they did have more mature themes than Precursor Legacy, so if ND did ever decided to go back and make one last Jak game on the PS3, I'm sure th...
Basically I want almost every gameplay element that was present in MGS3 (except for a heavy emphasis on stealth since Uncharted isn't a stealth franchise) to be in Uncharted 3. While MGS3 was somewhat a linear game, at the same time it it had a lot of big, open spaces for exploration, and I'd really like to see that in Uncharted 3. Also, things like Hunting for your own food in the wild, healing your own wounds, and maybe a Stamina system ( just like in MGS3) is something I'd like to see inte...
One thing for sure, I REALLY think Sony needs to get WKC out the door in the West sometime in Jan./Feb. before the March release of GOW3 and GT5... those games are all different genre's and will have different appeal, but I think the release of GOW3 and GT5 will totally eclipse WKC's release if it comes too close to them, and that's not even including big Multiplat. releases like Dante's Inferno, Battlefield Bad Company 2, Bioshock 2, etc. in Q1 2010... good luck with WKC Sony.
I...
The PS3 had THREE Exclusives released in October alone (Demons Souls, Ratchet, Uncharted 2) of course Borderlands on the PS3 isn't selling much.
Borderlands was NEVER on my radar to begin with this Fall, and I probably won't ever consider get it until it's $30 bucks at least. Assassin's Creed 2 is the only other Multiplatform game that I'm getting this year, and other than that, it's the GOW Collection, and Ratchet: A Crack in Time.
Game Industry lacked hit titles for First half of 2009?: Yakuza 3 (Japan release), KZ2, inFamous, MLB 09: The Show (even Aaron Greenburg loves it) Street Fighter 4, Resident Evil 5, Halo Wars, Prototype, etc... I'd personally consider those hit games.
NONE of those games came out on the Wii, and it's no wonder he's saying this.... As far as I'm concerned what Iwata saying about lack of hit games for the first half of 2009 mainly applies to the Wii.
To be honest, I wasn't that surprised that Killzone 2 didn't get nominated for Game of the Year, but I still think it should've been nominated over Left 4 Dead 2 though.
For GOTY I voted Uncharted 2, and every other category that had anything Naughty Dog or Uncharted related my vote went to it.
I'm pretty sure most of these VGA Award winners will be games that win the "Popularity Contest" here in the U.S., so I'm not really taking this this award show that ...
