This is one of the reason developers prioritize the consoles versions.
People who own a console will buy the game and support the developer, this is also why the majority of sales comes from console (GTA V - 75M sales - 6.5M on PC to 68.5M on consoles).
PC will always allow for illegal downloads and that hurts the people who spend YEARS working on a project.
I own both a PC and PS4. So I also defend PC, just not on this subject.
