I know what you mean. I love the series for the story hands down. Every time I had to pull my gun back out I was like "Ugh, I have to go shoot through some more stuff again?". I really liked the exploration, reading Data logs and the like a lot more than the shooting/cover system. There are better 3rd person shooters for action, ME is great for it's atmosphere and scale.
There are 46,692 players currently on the PS3 playing BF3 and 51,650 playing on the 360. So while there is a few thousand different there, I can't see how it would impact online play in any way. I own both and in my opinion, the PS3 has a much better online community. But then, that's my opinion. It seems to have a more mature, adult audience, but there is the occasional annoying child there as well.
I'm going to love Beyond, no doubt about it. I loved Heavy Rain, and this is definitely more of the same. But with that said, I am a little bummed that the user interface is exactly the same. Throughout the gameplay video that leaked, it was Heavy Rain in a new skin. Again, not really a bad thing, I was just hoping to see the gameplay progress a little more. And hopefully I will see that it has, since that was only a 20 minute demonstration.
Naughty Dog has said that in making this title, they don't have any plans for any kind of follow up title. They aren't discounting making one in the future, just that this story will be completely self-contained.
They can call it an Uncharted clone because they haven't played them either. This looks nothing like Uncharted. If Capcom was making it, they'd say it was a Resident Evil clone. But then if Capcom was making it, it would be multiplat and they wouldn't have a reason to hate it anymore.

Exactly what I was thinking. They must know how badly Playstation will outshine them this year and don't want to go through the embarrassment of airing it on their own network. Maybe use some PR to try to hide their show in the shadows as much as possible by grandstanding their own.
Oh, I see... So them saying compatible is really kind of false being that it's compatible with everything that has a stereo plug. I completely agree. I was way stoked when Konami announced the MGS HD collection, and can't stop playing it. I am sure there are plenty of people out there that feel the same way about Zelda. Haters gonna hate, I guess. Truth is, there's a market for HD collections and gamers should be glad this is being released.
This sounds fantastic to me. But then BF3 is the best online experience I've ever played. COD was awesome, but now I can't touch it without laughing at how ridiculously lame it is. Sure, there are some things that need to be addressed in a future patch, but it'll happen. The last patch was massive, of course it made the game radically different, and after a few hours of frustration I can see it's for the better. Balancing is key, and it's near perfection.
